As reported yesterday (May 8th), saxophonist John ‘Irish’ Earle has passed away - he was 64. A personal friend of the legendary Phil Lynott, John graced THIN LIZZY’s Live And Dangerous album (on the track 'Dancing In The Moonlight'). Fan-site Thin-lizzy.info has issued the following statement:

"It was with great sadness we learned of John Earle's passing yesterday. While a member of GRAHAM PARKER AND THE RUMOUR, John regularly joined Lizzy onstage during the Bad Reputation Tour in 1977 to accompany them on 'Dancing In The Moonlight'. His performances are featured on Lizzy's legendary Live And Dangerous album and video/dvd. John was a total gentleman and was highly regarded by those who had the pleasure of meeting him."
