Wired.com has issued the following report from Eliot Van Buskirk:

With so many social networks competing for users, bands have to keep an increasing number of profiles updated in order to keep in touch with their fans, who expect more than tour dates and official photos.

If a band's signed to a label or management company, that work usually falls to an online marketing person who spends a good percentage of their day accepting friends on MySpace and keeping content updated across the artist's various online presences.

ILike's Universal Artist Dashboard allows bands (or their label's online marketing intern) to manage their presences on iLike and wherever iLike's widgets can be embedded from one place.

Today, the company announced a deal with Eleven Seven Records, a label/management service that's home to SIXX A.M. (with Nikki Sixx), MÖTLEY CRÜE, DROWNING POOL and others, that will allow these artists to keep their fans updated with cellphone videos and tour diaries, among other things.
