GUNS N' ROSES keyboardist Dizzy Reed will be taking his side project HOOKERS 'N' BLOW on the road beginning January 18th at The Ravens Heart Foundation Benefit, followed by a NAMM performance later that night at 11 PM at The Cat Club in West Hollywood.

H'N'B will also return to The Cat Club for a special NAMM performance on January 20th at 11 PM which will include NAMM special guests on both nights. The Hookers 'N' Blow run will include a special stop at Philadelphia's legendary Trocadero on February 9th and The Webster Theatre in Hartford, CT on February 18th.

Boston-based scribe Deb Rao/Glam-Metal.com recently spoke to Hookers 'N' Blow (WHITE LION) drummer Troy Patrick Farrell about how Hookers 'N' Blow formed, and the upcoming Hookers 'N' Blow scheduled trek:

Q: Would you say the Hookers 'N' Blow is the ultimate party band? How did the band get the name Hookers 'N' Blow?

A: "You know I have to say, ultimate party band doesn’t work for me. When you’re called Hookers 'N' Blow you don’t really need any more words to describe us. It’s just that. Plus it’s hard to say Hookers 'N' Blow, which sounds so vile, and ultimate party band, which sounds so happy in the same phrase! Dizzy came up with the name. I heard that it was said on an episode of the Soprano’s, but can’t confirm that. I remember when we first got the artwork for the logo, we weren’t sure if we were going to use it. It’s the first logo you can actually snort!"

Q: "H'N'B has a huge repertoire. The band performs a lot of bluesy ROLLING STONES tunes. Since you hail from Chicago, how did the blues have a big impact on your musical style?

A: "Dizzy is a big Stones fan, that’s really the only reason we play so much of that. I’ve learned to like them more and more, but I prefer playing LOVERBOY or DIO, or GN'R. Growing up in ChicagoTown, I got into the CHEAP TRICKs and the ENUFF Z'NUFFs, not so much of the blues. Chicago does have one of the best scenes around though."

Q: How did you meet Dizzy Reed, and how did Hookers 'N' Blow come into fruition?

A: "I grew up in Northwest Indiana, the region to the locals. My brother Shawn had been in bands since he was 12, my brother Scott played guitar for the school band, and it was natural for me to get involved since music was always rocking at my house. After moving out to LA awhile ago, I met Alex Grossi and Matt Starr. I started playing with them in the now defunct FASTMASTER. Matt and Alex met Dizzy, and quickly became friends. It was soon after we started the cover band called Hookers N Blow and with my association with Matt and Alex, I met Dizzy and became the drummer for H'N'B."

Q: Hookers 'N' Blow will be performing at NAMM 07 this week. How is the rock scene in Los Angeles these days? I know so many great arists will be attending NAMM this year.

A: "I moved to Los Angeles in '92, just in time to see the riots. I’m not familiar with any "Metal Scene", good or bad. I don’t really check out tons of Metal, but Rock in general is pretty strong. It’s never going to be like it was in the 80’s, but there are still some great bands out there."
