GWAR lead singer Dave Brockie went on a trip to Russia this past May and visited the site of the bloodiest event in the history of war, the Battle of Stalingrad. Brockie will be holding an event on August 12th at Balliceaux in Richmond, VA to discuss his trip and is being described as “part C-SPAN lecture, part improv comedy, but undeniably all Brockie.” The band made the following post:

“In May of this year GWAR lead singer Dave Brockie and a couple of similarly war-crazed close friends took an epic trip across Russia that took them to the scene of the bloodiest event in the history of warfare, the Battle of Stalingrad. The story and pictures he brought back with him tell a tale heart-breaking, hilarious, and ultimately inspiring. Dave Brockie and Secretly Ya'll invite you to join one of Richmond's most notorious figures in a sprawling tale spanning two continents and featuring a cast of hundreds. Part C-Span lecture, part improv comedy, but undeniably all Brockie, this is a show not to be missed...unless of course you have no interest whatsoever in Russian military history or Brockie's attempt to somehow grapple with the ghosts which have obsessed him his whole life. (See ya) there!”

Secretly Ya’ll is a story-telling group from Richmond, VA.
Event details: $5 at the door with $1 from every ticket goes to buy Secretly Ya’ll a gong. Monday, August 12th at the Balliceaux 203 North Lombardy St.
