MOTÖRHEAD have now canceled the remaining dates on their summer 2013 European tour, after doctors recommended frontman Lemmy be given more time to recover from a hematoma he reportedly suffered last month.

Drummer Mikkey Dee tells Sweden's that Lemmy’s condition is improving but also said, “The doctors in Berlin are recommending that he rests for another couple of weeks. We can’t keep canceling show after show, it’s too costly. Therefore we unfortunately have to cancel the entire tour. There will be an official announcement regarding his health shortly.”

Motörhead were previously forced to cancel three dates after frontman Lemmy Kilmster suffered a haematoma - where blood collects outside of a blood vessel. Lemmy was also fitted with a defibrillator due to heart problems.

The details of Lemmy's haematoma were not disclosed, however, his official Facebook page was updated with the following message:

"We are happy to announce that despite rumors to the contrary, Lemmy is alive, breathing, talking, fucking, drinking, eating, reading and will be back to playing shows shortly. As reported, he did undergo a Motor-pit-stop for some medical maintenance this past spring, and the timing of his recent illness was unfortunate in that it came so soon after that.

"Lemmy & Co believe in the 'keep calm and carry on' way of thinking. Fans can anticipate more Motörhead live action this summer, as well as the most exciting Motörhead in years, Aftershock, this fall."

As previously reported, Aftershock was recorded at California's Maple Sound Studios (Santa Ana), produced by Cameron Webb. The album will include 13 tracks, titles including 'Dust And Glass', 'Knife', 'Going To Mexico', 'Lost Woman Blues', 'Death Machine' and 'Heartbreaker'.

Complete album details coming soon.

Motörhead recently confirmed that their annual run of UK dates will, as always, be taking place this November and this time they’re bringing the mighty SAXON with them.

Motörhead - Lemmy Kilmister, Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee - have released over 20 studio albums over their 38 year career. Their MO is simple, ‘WE ARE MOTÖRHEAD… AND WE PLAY ROCK N ROLL’. Known for being one of the most hard working bands in rock n roll, they have well and truly cemented their iconic status in the annals of rock legend, their yearly exodus across the UK, being no different. A must see for any self respecting fan, young or old.

This year, they will be bringing the heavy metal monster that is Saxon with them as very special guests. Having been one of the front runners for the New Wave OF British Heavy Metal in the 80s, the band went on to sell over 15 million record worldwide and have had 8 UK top 40 albums. German rockers, SKEW SISKEN will once again be taking to the road as support, having opened for Motörhead on their 2010 UK tour.
