Wretched And Divine: The Story Of The Wild Ones (released via Lava Records/Republic Records) landed at #7 on the Billboard 200 selling over 42,000 copies its first week. Upon release, the album also soared to the #1 Spot on the iTunes Top Album Chart and the iTunes Rock Chart. The latest release nearly doubled in first week sales what the band’s 2011 release Set The World On Fire did. The first single from the album, 'In The End', hit rock radio on January 22nd. The video for the first single premiered online last month and has been viewed over 3.7 million times since it was released. Black Veil Brides frontman Andy Biersack has issued a public service announcement for Musicians Opposed To Bullying (M.O.B.). He comments on self-injury or self harming, when a person deliberately hurts themselves physically to deal with the emotional pain they are suffering
In 2012, IN THIS MOMENT vocalist Maria Brink issued a public service announcement in support of Musicians Opposed To Bullying (M.O.B.) via the video clip below. An excerpt follows:
"What kids out there who are getting bullied need to know is that it's not OK. There's a lot of reach-out programs, people that you can talk to, people that can help you figure out how to get an answer to the problem. And if you are unique and you are different and you're an artist and you don't fit in with everybody else, what you need to realize is that that's actually a blessing — that makes you unique and that makes you special — and in the long run, in the big scheme of things, it's gonna be something that makes you have your own identity. Embrace who you are, and if people don't understand you, that's their own problem, that's their own insecurities. They're really the one with the problem — the people who are judging you and saying negative things to you, they are really the people with the problem, not you at all."
A four-minute public service announcement featuring ANTHRAX frontman Joey Belladonna, bassist Frank Bello and drummer Charlie Benante is also online. An excerpt from Bello's comments is available below:
Bello: "Don't be afraid to tell. Whether you have a good relationship with your parents or you don't, you have a guidance counselor in school, you have a principal. I was close to my principal in school. When I was getting bullied, I talked to him, and he acted as a confidant. And he told me what to do; it was very secretive. You can do it all in secret. Don't feel like there is no way out; there is a way out. And it's not suicide. It's absolutely not suicide. Get rid of these lowlives in your life, man. I'm telling you. There's a long life ahead of you."
