The string of dates run from January 4th - 29th and will be a rare treat as most shows will be an evening with Eric Johnson as Eric and his band (bassist Chris Maresh and drummer Wayne Salzmann) will be the only performers – except for six dates, which will feature talented acoustic guitarist Andy McKee (1/6 NYC, 1/7 Phoenixville, 1/12 Chicago, 1/14 Chicago, 1/18 Anaheim, and 1/19 Los Angeles), while Peppino wil open 1/21 in Visalia.
Johnson will be performing on a variety of stellar equipment that he fully endorses, including a newly released Signature Series speaker by Eminence and Fuzz Face by Dunlop (distortion pedal) retro'd back to Hendrix model.
Exactly a year ago, the aforementioned Up Close was released – Johnson's sixth studio release over, which featured such special guests as Sonny Landreth, Steve Miller, Jimmie Vaughan, and Jonny Lang, and was later reissued as a beautiful 180-gram vinyl edition.
