CAMP FREDDY guitarist Billy Morrison has checked in with the following update.
"Last night (November 14th) at the House Of Blues in Anaheim, I played a couple of acoustic songs with my brother Corey Taylor (SLIPKNOT, STONE SOUR). First of all, that dude has one of the best voices in rock. Period. He sings his ass off every night and is one of the most versatile frontmen I’ve ever seen. So it was planned that I’d simply play guitar on the ROLLING STONES ‘Dead Flowers’ and that would be it. But of course, sitting backstage before the gig, and noodling around with his bandmate Jason Rappise, we started fucking around with other songs….. and somehow Corey decides that with no rehearsal, and with neither Jason nor myself really knowing the song well, that we were going to perform the huge BON JOVI song, ‘Wanted Dead Or Alive’! I guess that’s just why I love those guys – up for anything, nothing’s too serious, and always into jamming, playing music and smiling big. A huge thank you to the crowd at the HOB for welcoming me and singing along to every word. What a fun fucking time that was….. let’s do it again soon."
As previously reported, Taylor recently recealed that the follow-up to Stone Sour's 2010 album Audio Secrecy has begun. "Right now we're just working on demos...and a pretty grandiose idea that I've been kind of chewing on for a long time," Taylor tells Billboard.com. "On a musical scale, artistically, visually, we're going to swing for the fences with this one. If we can pull it off, it would be really cool and...put a lot of people in their place. I'm really excited to get working on it."
Taylor expects to hit the studio with Stone Sour in 2012, between Slipknot's run on February's Soundwave Festival in Australia and a summer tour of North America that's slated to kick off in mid-June. "We've got a lot of great ideas already," Taylor reports. "We've got some people we're looking to work with. Once we have more information on it, we'll let everybody know."
