Oklahoma City’s AURORA SKY have announced that former I-RIVAL drummer Toby Weston has joined the band as their permanent drummer.
Weston, an Atlanta native, was highly recommended by Corey Lowery (STEREOMUD, DARK NEW DAY, EYE EMPIRE) who co-produced the band’s latest efforts at the famed The Mix Room in Burbank, California alongside the Grammy-nominated Ben Grosse (SEVENDUST, BREAKING BENJAMIN, FILTER).
Toby also received huge praise from Sevendust drummer Morgan Rose as the two are close friends and very similar in playing style.
“I heard these new tracks”, Weston commented, “and all I could think about was how cool they were going to be to play live. I’m very excited to be on-board!”
Toby joins singer/guitarist Andrew West, guitarist Chris Shy, and keyboard/programmer Arjavh Aleson in a band that has created a huge buzz in the industry with their latest recording sessions.
The sessions included Lowery on bass, drummer Glen Sobel (SIXX A.M., BEAUTIFUL CREATURES) and programming wiz Justin Walden (KORN, GODSMACK, Sevendust).
Mastering was just completed on Wednesday (July 28th) by Ted Jensen (ALICE IN CHAINS, SHINEDOWN, PAPA ROACH), and two of the tracks can be heard streaming on the band’s website for a limited time.
