Jackson County Fair officials in Jackson County, Michigan have named progressive rock band Styx as the first major musical act for the 2010 fair.
Jackson County Administrator Randy Treacher, who is overseeing the operations of the fairground, said that the fair does not have a signed contract in hand yet, but concert promoters have worked out an agreement to have Styx perform on Wednesday of fair week.
Tickets could go on sale as soon as next week, Treacher said. An official concert announcement, including such details as ticket prices, is expected Monday.
“We’ve been very successful the last two years with TED NUGENT and ALICE COOPER, and we think Styx does fit right in with that,” Treacher said.
