As previously report, IRON MAIDEN fans have launched a virtual petition on Facebook to have the band open the 2012 London Olympic Games.
To date over 36,000 have joined the group already!
A description on the page reads: "Iron Maiden are one of the most successful bands to come out of England that are still active and are arguably the biggest Metal band of all time. They deserve to play and represent their hometown of London, England in 2012!"
As well, there’s also a Facebook download group here requesting that fans download Iron Maiden’s 'Loneliness Of The Long Distance Runner' on July 19, 2010 in support of getting the band to open the games.
