Britain's VOODOO SIX have issued the following update:
"As many of you will no doubt have heard by now, we are finally hitting the road again. It has been a long time coming, but we are finally ready to unleash the new boy on an unsuspecting world.
(Vocalist) Luke Purdie's first show with us will take place in the intimate surroundings of the London's newly refurbished Borderline on March 2nd. Tickets are onsale from 6 PM today, and for the first 48 hours will be exclusive to our subscribers (that's you). Click here to buy tickets."
Possibly even more exciting is the news that at long long last we are getting ready to unleash some new music on the world. You may have heard Planet Rock playing 'Take The Blame' over the last month or so, and in the next couple of weeks we are going to be releasing a 5-track digital EP entitled A Little Something For You. This will be available exclusively via www.voodoosix.com at the very reasonable price of £3.99."
Voodoo Six recently updated their Facebook page to stream another song snippet, for the song 'Live Again'. Check it out at this location.
As previously reported, Voodoo Six have taken the rather unique approach of starting to leak out samples of their new album on their Facebook Page rather than the band's website.
Band founder and bass guitarist Tony Newton (ex-DIRTY DEEDS) explained: “We have been fortunate to have toured the world with bands such as IRON MAIDEN, DIO, and EXTREME, and also played some of the largest festivals across the UK and Europe, as well as our own headline tours, and that opportunity has brought us a loyal growing fan base around the world. So rather than posting the songs on our official site, we thought we would expose them in a forum where the fans can discuss and tell us what they think – without it being filtered or moderated.”
The band recently recruited Luke Purdie, an unknown singer to front the band, and critics are saying his vocal style has brought a radio friendliness to the band that has eluded them previously. The as-yet-unnamed album will be released in February, and will coincide with a UK tour, and select dates across Europe.
The band's new album was mixed by Mike Fraser (LED ZEPPELIN, AC/DC, METALLICA, AEROSMITH, VAN HALEN, MOTLEY CRÜE).
