Not surprisingly, black is the T-shirt color of choice at most METALLICA shows.
But pink will rule at Monday night's heavy metal concert at Van Andel Arena, with stagehands and riggers from West Michigan's stagehands union planning to don pink shirts as part of a breast cancer awareness campaign.
"We've very excited about it as so many of us have been touched by breast cancer in some way," said Meg Langenfeld, office manager for the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 26. The union expects to have about 90 stagehands working the Metallica show in pink T-shirts, rather than the usual black.
