The Press Association is reporting:

ROLLING STONES star Ronnie Wood has been honoured for his outstanding contribution to rock at a leading awards event.

The guitarist, who has also been through the ranks of the JEFF BECK GROUP and THE FACES, was rewarded for his "ageless presence on the scene", at the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour Awards.

Other stars whose musical contributions were recognized included the late LED ZEPPELIN drummer John Bonham, CREAM's Ginger Baker and the punk pioneer IGGY POP, who was named a living legend.

The 2009 Classic Rock Roll Of Honour is currently in full swing tonight (November 2nd) at London’s Park Lane Hotel. Classic Rock Magazine is covering the event and have photos of Led Zeppelin, BLACK SABBATH, ZZ TOP, IRON MAIDEN, AEROSMITH members online at this location.
