BW&BK has received the following update:

The nominations for the 2009 South Bay Music Awards were just announced over the weekend and the Los Angeles power metal band NINTH CIRCLE received a whopping seven nominations. Ninth Circle is nominated for the follow categories:



Best Independent CD – The Power of One by Ninth Circle
Rock Group of the Year – Ninth Circle
Best Live Performance – Ninth Circle
Alternative Group / Artist of the Year – Ninth Circle
Guitarist of the Year – Dennis Brown
Bass Player of the Year – Frank Forray
Drummer of the Year – Dave Davis

Frank explains: “It’s been a long road with this CD. We are getting a lot of positive press and reviews and this is a great way to top it all off with a ‘Best Independent CD’ and ‘Rock Group of the Year” nomination… along with the other nominations. We’ve put our own blood, sweat and tears into this record and our efforts are starting to pay off now. It gives us great momentum and recharges our batteries before heading out on tour.”

Dennis adds: "It is very satisfying that we have been able to record the music we love playing and be recognized for it. Having Jeff Prentice as our producer and "coach" during the recording definitely kicked the project up a notch. We could have settled for bar chord-mania and pumped out a CD really quick but that was not our intention. I am glad that we took the time to put something out that we are proud of and that other folks are catching onto as well! It has given us opportunities that we previously did not have and is a reminder that Metal always has a home all over the world!"

And newest Ninth Circle member, drummer, Dave Davis comments: "There are a lot of bands out there, but every once in a while something comes along that really catches your attention; and for me, that was Ninth Circle. The music got my attention, and the level of musicianship sealed the deal. And the fact that the CD is getting noticed and getting played, combined with the fact that we are doing shows with some pretty famous bands, all just reinforces the idea that this band has that special 'something'...to catch your attention, keep your attention, and leave you wanting more."

The award show will be held Saturday, February 21st at the famed Los Angeles Sports Arena.
