German/Swiss blues/metal act DOWNSPIRIT, the new band formed by SYMPHORCE/ex-FREEDOM CALL guitarist Cedric "Cede" Dupont, have issued the following update:

As promised... here it is: our first demo song :-)

It's a hard-rocky tune called 'Backstabber'.... as mentioned it is just a demo, a little preview for you all... be sure that the final product will be like thunder.

At the moment we're rehearsing all of the material and will be adding some more demos here and there.

As previously reported, Downspirit have been working on the pre-production for their upcoming debut album, which is expected to be released in mid 2009.

According to a press release, "blending old blues roots with a modern, downtuned guitar-feel, their songs are a mixture of typical bluesy '80's hard rock and a contemporary metal sound, which also includes some electro-loops here and there."
