It's time to put down the rum and coke. Trailer Park Boys is coming to an end next month.
The Canadian mockumentary series - about the misadventures of a group of trailer park residents - will come to an end after seven seasons on Showcase.
Featuring the antics of the foul-mouthed Ricky, cat-loving Bubbles and the scheming Julian - who's rarely seen without a rum and coke - the show wraps up with a special, one-hour finale Dec. 7.
Series creator Mike Clattenburg says he's grateful to the dedicated fans who have made the show a success.
He says a Trailer Park Boys movie, tentatively titled, "Trailer Park Boys - Countdown To Liquor Day" - hits theatres in the fall of 2009.
Since it first hit the air in 2001, the series has grown into a ratings success and pop culture phenomenon, spawning a feature film in 2006 and numerous public appearances for the cast, who rarely give interviews out of character.
Over the years, the show has featured a string of cameos from famous fans including Alex Lifeson from RUSH, RITA MACNEIL, SEBASTIAN BACH, and actress Ellen Page.
Showcase says on its web page that a Trailer Park Boys marathon will precede the finale, featuring nine episodes chosen by Julian, Ricky, Bubbles and Clattenburg.
