MEGADETH frontman Dave Mustaine has checked in with the following update:
"Droogies!
I just got back from England a few days ago, as some of you know, and one thing that I loved about my trip was the sense of National Pride with an incredibly high percentage of the English wearing a pin that resembled a poppy, and it just didn't seem or feel quite the same back home here in the States, although it did feel good.
It's a very strange dynamic, but I guess I'm just being an old whining patriot and too critical. Today when I was at Vic's Garage, I opened the door to the control room, after I took Justis to go get his passport renewed, and I was pleaseantly surprised by Chris Broderick - (our new lead guitarist) being in there working with James Lomenzo and we ended up going over several riffs, back and forth over the day. I have just had so much digging out to do, and we are really getting to discover new stuff, just about every day!
Andy Sneap returns Wednesday night and Shawn Drover Thursday morning, so we wanted to be ready to try and get back on track. It may not happen, but this certainly helped. Thank you James and Chris! I just had some great time this last week to take in everything that is happening: live and studio recordings, writing my memoirs, working on several projects outside of music for myself and for charity.
The other highlight is beginning a new season again with my family. Thank you to everyone that has sent us your prayers, or 'positive vibes,' because it worked. The last trip I made to the UK or anywhere for that matter was not quite as smooth or enjoyable as this one was, and although not much changed; everything changed.
I have a really good feeling about watching James go over the riffs with Chris and getting him to play them into our rig so we can start laying down the basic tracks for our next offering!
Anyway, it is time for sleep, I will check in again soon."
