BRUTE FORCZ

Out For Blood

(Self-released)

Reviewed by : Kelley Simms
Rating : 8.0

On the surface, BRUTE FORCZ’s music has no socially redeeming values. Songs about kicking ass and getting laid is what the band plays on its debut full-length release, Out For Blood. The band’s brand of metal is set to the soundtrack of iconic ’80s metal bands such as MOTORHEAD, W.A.S.P., ACCEPT, VENOM and JUDAS PRIEST. Produced by legendary guitarist and Grammy Award-winning producer Bob Kulick, (brother of ex-KISS lead guitarist, Bruce), the album is hard, fast and loud; simple and straightforward. There are no frills involved, and that’s the beauty of it, you know exactly what you’re going to get with Brute Forcz right off the bat. “Live for Speed,” with its blistering guitar leads and pulsating riffs is the band’s homage to heavy metal and getting laid. “Leather & Chains” is about the lifestyle of heavy metal and also about getting laid. “Thrill Queen” is a tribute to female porn stars and “Sex Machine” is about ... well, you get the point. Their lyrics won’t win any literary awards, but hey, does one ever get tired of songs about sex anyway? Their choruses are chant-able, catchy and memorable. The combination of fraternal twins Jammer (bass/vocals) and Slammer (drums) is just what you’d want in a straight ahead rhythm section. Jammer’s vocals don’t have much of a range, but the songs are written to cater to his voice perfectly. But the silver lining in the band comes in the form of British-born guitarist Will Wallner. His blazing leads, blistering technique and crunchy riffs really make the songs pop. With Brute Forcz, what you see is what you get, and what you get on Out For Blood is some kick ass heavy metal.
