STREET LIGHT SUZIE
The Red Album

Further proof to the old adage, never judge a book – or in this case, album – by its cover, as the artwork adorning STREET LIGHT SUZIE’s Red Album is beyond boring; but the CD contains ten damn fine rock ‘n roll tunes. Co-produced by former GUNS N’ ROSES guitarist GILBY CLARKE, an up-tempo and irresistible cover of CHRIS ISAAK’s ‘Wicked Game’ highlights this casually cool batch of bourbon-infused songs. Shaking off the street grit, vocalist / guitarist / keyboardist / harmonica player Wiley Ross leads his Texas-based troupe through a series of ‘Guilty Pleasures’, all the while being ‘Drunk N Lonely’, proclaiming “I’m the biggest fucking whore in all the town!” The raspy and swirling ‘Walls’ reveals, “Big hair and limousines, that really ain’t my scene.” Devoid of pretension and bred for a roadhouse bar, Street Light Suzie is working man’s music through and through. Better watch out because before you know it, you’ll be humming these tracks long after the disc’s stopped spinning.
