Oh man, not sure how many more “slaughtered nude women” album covers I really need around the house (none, probably, but I guess you never know), and the song titles here are the second strike against good taste/maturity. Luckily, this UK group (don’t confuse ’em with other bands with the same name) lay down a concise 22 minutes of slamming deathgrind here on their debut, and it’s done well. The pig-squealing slow sludge in ‘Paraplegic Punching Bag’ (sigh) is as heavy as the grinding death of ‘Fornicating The Disfigured’ (sigh). So the tunes themselves are excellent, the production quite raw but still polished, and the delivery fully pure and true to modern death conventions. If you’re into DYING FETUS, DEVOURMENT, and ignoring silly lyrics, pick this one up.
