What the fuck? Apart from the pain of dealing with that combined “a” and “e” (man, I hate that thing), I see absolutely no reason why I, as an avid death/grind fan, have not been worshipping this debut full-length from Spain’s WORMED, which originally dropped nine fucking years ago and is now being reissued by Willowtip. First off, if you play this motherfucker without looking at the device that’s playing it, it sounds like one long song, with the pauses IN the songs often being longer than the pauses BETWEEN the songs. Secondly, those vocals are some of the ugliest I’ve ever heard. Third, man, this is just straight up some of the best technical grind out there, all raw and ugly and power violent and twisty and turny, with a nasty production sound to boot. Incredible stuff, makes me swear lots, makes me angry I just spent nine years not being aware of this band’s existence. Hell yeah Willowtip for bringing this one back to life. Fuck off to the universe for not letting me know about Wormed earlier.
