Helsinki Metal Meeting - Industry Day With FINNTROLL, BARREN EARTH, ARMOUR

Prior to the two days of public access concerts calling itself Helsinki Metal Meeting (formerly Finnish Metal Expo), industry insiders across Scandinavian as well as from Europe, the UK and North America gather to discuss topics and revel in the sounds of upcoming, as well as established acts. The 2010 campaign opened with ARMOUR, an old-school NWOBHM inspired traditional outfit (singer in TOKYO BLADE t-shirt!) who have only issued a vinyl single, which ended up at #2 in the Finnish charts! Also on the bill was BARREN EARTH, former/current members of heavy hitters like AMORPHIS and SWALLOW THE SUN, debuting much of their Peaceville album, Curse Of The Red River. Speaking of offering up new material, FINNTROLL dished up 'Den Frusna Munnen', 'Under Bergets Rot' and (somewhat surprisingly, as part of the encore) 'Sol Sagan' which kicks off the just released Nefilvind. A trio of tunes from the debut and Jaktens Tid were also amongst the nearly 90 minute set.
