This is pretty much spot-on how I was feeling when my dad (and my grandparents...sheesh) was on his way out. I knew he was gonna die, and pretty soon at that, and that's awful but what's the alternative? Wasting away in a hospital bed for a few more months, not even recognizing the people who come to visit him?

The hardest part for me was watching the effect it was having on my mother and sister, as well as dealing with visitors that had no fucking right being in his room (I even went so far as to have one thrown out).

I suspect that your generally level-headed nature is what is keeping you so stable right now, as well as having to be strong for the others around you. It's easy to feel weird when you're staying calm and grounded while everyone around you is losing their shit. This will hit you when it's good and ready to, and there's no right or wrong way to deal with it.

I work for a major multi-billion dollar corporation, which has recently been posting record revenue and profits, and yet one of the computers I have to use can't run Excel without freezing. Sometimes for up to 20 minutes at a time. Fucking wonderful. And there's currently no plan to replace or upgrade it.

that shit used to kill me, company newsletter comes out, "guess what! the company is happy to announce 6 new contracts and continued growth in every sector!". then a week later the boss announces everyone's hours are being cut, the incentive program is being removed, and the benefits package "retooled".

I'm having a really really hard time getting motivated these days. any effort feels like 10 times the work it actually is. i'm being lazy as hell but it's just stressing me out and i can't seem to stop. it's driving me fucking nuts and i have noone to blame but myself . yuck!

My arm is acting up again, and it hurts like a bitch. It actually feels like the inside of my arm in on fire. Painkillers and ice aren't working at all. I'm beginning to think the doctor I saw at the hospital a while ago gave me the wrong diagnosis. I think it might actually be a torn muscle. I just hope I can get in to see my family doctor this week for another opinion.

Dry socket. And I kept telling Greg something isn't right, I shouldn't be pounding 1200mg of ibuprofen (which is like your daily max!) and 2 percocets at bedtime and being woken up 2 hours later with crippling fucking pain crying like a bitch.
I got in ASAP this morning and the packed my mouth hole with this magical concoction of gauze and clove oil. Still in a shitload of pain, but it definitely took the edge off.

I slept from 2am-4:30am last night and that's it. I called in sick to work, sent Jaime to the sitters anyway. I've got a date with a percocet and a tea and a comfy bed.

Now normally, I think *some* naturopathic things are fantastic. Some pharmaceutical things are great, too. Birth control, percocet, etc..
Well I went to our local hippie store looking for pure clove oil to put in my dry socket to ease the ouchies. Shit's MAGIC. And of course there's the kind you can use internally/externally and the kind used to make your house smell pretty.
I ask the lady who runs the naturopathic medicine part if the stuff I was holding was what I was looking for.
Her: "Oh.. Oh yeah, that's it."
Me: "But it says do not use internally OR externally. This is the stuff you use to scent your house!"
Her: "They're all the same kind, use it anyways!"
The fuck? It clearly says NOT INTENDED FOR INTERNAL OR EXTERNAL USE. Fucking idiot.

I went to Shoppers and bough the proper stuff for 10 times cheaper.
