they were ostly standoffish. we promised them we weren't a bunch of PETA dorks, and that it was just for the silliness of the juxtaposition but most of them were worried about ending up some kind of internet joke. one guy who actually had a sense of humour was down though, so it's all good.

As a birthday present to my wife, her parents took the kids all afternoon yesterday and then had them spend the night (which they've never done before). Plus they gave us a gift card to go out for dinner. It was a very nice evening and we both got a full night of sleep for the first time in quite a while.

My mom cooked a really good turkey dinner for my birthday, and got me a chocolate fudge cake, as well as some really pretty flowers. I wound up spending the evening playing Mario Party 8 on my Nintendo Wii with my sister and her fiance, which was really fun. Unfortunately Gabe couldn't be here for it due to work, but he's coming to see me later this week when he has some time off, and I'm really looking forward to it. We'll probably be going out for dinner and a movie.

playing the legend of zelda for the first time in like 20 years. god damn the memories of 1986 are just flooding through me. i am trying to remember all the secrets. i believe they are still stuck in my brain somewhere.....i think i am confusing some locations with the 2nd quest within the game though.

I had a sweet party a couple weeks ago with tons of classic Nintendo happening... hooked it up to the big TV and got some Mega Man 2, Adventure Island, Mario 3, Ninja Gaiden, and Punch Out. Everyone enjyed themselves. The party wasn't about Nintendo, it just ended up based around the Nintendo.

its finals week at school and this is band class, so we dont do no stinking finals.
