It's no surprise we missed it since every band ever put out a fuckin' album last year. Also, from Metal-Archives: Quote: "Les Fleurs du mal" (a reference to the famous french poet Charles Baudelaire) is a cover album of 60's/70's french pop songs.

Speaking of albums that may have made the cut...
The Svartidaudi album was exceptional upon first listen today.

Re: Braveboard Top Albums of 2012
Okay, everybody else is doing it...
1. Devin Townsend Project, Epicloud (13 - I'm surprised this didn't place a lot higher, because I saw it - maybe selectively - up top on a lot of lists) 2. Dragonette, Bodyparts (DNR, no surprise there) 3. Wintersun, Time I (32) 4. Kreator, Phantom Antichrist (10) 5. Van Halen, A Different Kind Of Truth (8) 6. Jeff Loomis, Plains Of Oblivion (DNR, which is shocking to me - maybe a lot of fans were so put off by all the twiddly-dee of the previous album that they never bothered with this one) 7. Anneke Van Giersbergen, Everything Is Changing (74) 8. Ihsahn, Eremita (24) 9. Brendon Small, Galaktikon (DNR; no surprise, though any Dethklok fan owes it to themselves to check it out) 10. Dethklok, Dethalbum III (77) 11. Lacuna Coil, Dark Adrenaline (47) 12. Rush, Clockwork Angels (11) 13. Sigh, In Somniphobia (31) 14. Pink, The Truth About Love (DNR, obviously) 15. OSI, Fire Make Thunder (DNR, not that obviously but the album came and went for six months before I'd even heard about it)
Thanks again for doing this - I hope you're doing okay after what Marvel comics did to your town!

Yes it's a cover album, but it sounds like a new Therion album (especailly as I am not familar with French pop music)

No shit....it's a huge step forward from Zero Order Phase, and was my top pick of '12.

Avengers #1, last month. It was Regina and some other city far away, I don't remember that one. It was the Regina part that stood out, as you might imagine.

I do need to revisit Plains of Oblivion (listening now).
I'm eager to hear Jeff contribute to a band again, though.

Re: Braveboard Top Albums of 2012
I actually really liked Zero Order Phase but found the new one underwhelming. A few great tracks but some which just sound like Nevermore b-sides and some truly awful guest vocals here and there.

Re: Braveboard Top Albums of 2012
Man, 2012 was such a great year for releases. I'm still discovering stuff released last year.
Hopefully 2013 is just as good.

It was. And so far, if all the releases actually come out, it has potential to be an excellent year, barring major letdowns.
