 Re: Fitness Thread (2013 Edition!)
I hope to make more losses this year. For the past 2 years, I have hovered within a 15 pound range. I'd like to break that barrier. It always requires commitment and unwavering concentration in both exercise and food consumption that it's so easy to fall off the wagon for either aspect. But I'm committed.

 Re: Fitness Thread (2013 Edition!)
Still about 60 lbs shy of where I need to be to compete in a bodybuilding show. I hope this year to get to 240, and maintain roughly the same BF %. Hired a coach to help with diet, and it's working very well so far.

(other than you're not in a position to be competitive).

 Re: Fitness Thread (2013 Edition!)
you can gain 60lb of mass in a year no problem , but most of that mass will be fat for sure... unless you start using enhancers that goals is pretty crazy in my opinion.

(other than you're not in a position to be competitive). Hey Fatal, my goal is to EVENTUALLY get to 260. I am now 220. I want to aim for 20lbs this year -- not all muscle of course. But I'd like to stay under 12% BF. I like to set ambitious goals. That way, I will maximize my results. But, there's no friggin way I'd ever dream of 60 lbs in a year. I've been around this game for a long time, seen both natural and geared-up guys make great gains -- but no one ever gets beyond 20lbs in a year, on gear or not! NOthing at all wrong with what I've achieved. But I've always been an athlete, and to not be competitive is impossible for me lol. If I didn't have this I'd be out on the street challenging the neighbourhood kids to street hockey or something. Just how I am. So I have to think of this competitively to keep going.

ok cool, thanks for clearing that up, 60lbs in one year seemed a ridiculous goal, just couldn't wrap my head around that, lol

I like to think of myself being the same but I know I'm just a lazy ass. I get bursts of motivation and I work the fuck out but it eventually dies out until the next burst of motivation.

 Re: Fitness Thread (2013 Edition!)
My new program, The Centurion Method, kicked of for real this month. Barbarian-inspired punishment for people who don't like gyms. Kind of like a caveman crossfit thing I guess. It's going well! My only real goal is to have more energy and lose some fat, which I'm mainly attempting to achieve through diet (after swearing off weekday beer, I've REALLY started to notice the bloat it gives me when I do indulge), but the exercise is a great motivator and just feels damn good.
Generally doing a mix of bodyweight exercises, lots of running, and yoga.

Reccomendations for programs that aim towards bulking up? I'm tall (6'6") and skinny (180) and am looking for something to help me not look like twig anymore.

 Re: Fitness Thread (2013 Edition!)
eat constantly. lots of protein, lots of healthy fats, lots of vitamins. drink milk, eat lots of beef and chicken, eat brown rice, eat quinoa, eat beans by the truckload, eat eggs by the dozen.
being tall and presumably having a slender frame will (obviously) work against you- your muscles naturally want to be long and thin, and just moving your body from point a to point b probably uses a lot f energy so you won't put on much fat. but resistance training of some sort will help. bodyweight exercises, weights, whatever. if you want to start looking bigger focus on legs, chest and arms. having a small abdomen will emphasize the growth you experience in other areas.
i really have no idea what i'm talking about so take all of that with a grain of salt, but good luck!
