We had to have my dog Shelby put down friday. I've had her for 14 years and it's killing me. My wife is a mess and so am I. I saved her life when I got her and now I had to pay someone else to take it. I'm usually pretty philosophical when it comes to things like this but not this time. She was literally the sweetest, most un-aggressive dog I've ever been around. I actually cried at the vets office(and several times since) and can't even remember the last time I cried. To make matters worse, I'm on call for work and have had to deal situations and people I couldn't give a shit about.

Fuck, man, it must feel terrible. I'm sorry for you.

I raise my glass to Shelby tonight. May her spirit live on.

Putting down my childhood dog is one of the most vivid memories I have, and the only time I have EVER seen my dad cry - I am truly saddened by what you are going through.

That's something I'll never forget. My (step)dad had the dog before us, and putting her down was the hardest thing for him to do. I didn't see him cry, but I think seeing him so heartbroken was almost as bad as losing our dog. She was a rad critter. Big stinky bouvier.

Ignorant co-workers, man. I'm finding myself arguing with a co-worker again about the matter of gay marriage (which was just passed here in Washington state). She brings the newspaper from the break room saying she's going to puke because two men are shown kissing at their wedding. I told her if it really bothers her to not bother looking at it.

After only a few seconds of going back and forth she tells me, "I feel very strongly about this and don't want to discuss it right now," to which I reply "I feel very strongly about it as well, and if you don't want to talk about it, don't bring it up."

tell her looking at her makes you want her to throw up but you can't make being disgusting illegal so she'd better just get over her shit too.

I feel strongly about a lot of things, but I rarely discuss them at work. Work is full of stupid people, but it’s better for both my own sanity, and my career to simply hate them in the privacy of my own mind. Don’t let some close minded old hag drag you down with her. Just let her spew her ignorance to the wind all the while unknowingly announcing to the world that she is a fucking troglodyte. I only get into personal debates with most of my coworkers if they push and pry too much, and when that happens they usually end up looking stupid.

I was driving home earlier, and was signalling to exit the highway when some douchebag pretty much swerved into my lane, cutting me off and causing me to miss the exit. I had to swerve a bit to the right as well, otherwise he would have clipped my left fender. I couldn't step on the brakes either because someone else was close to tailgating me and likely would have hit me. The asshole that cut me off didn't even take the exit. He just got into the lane I was driving in and then slowed down. I couldn't believe it. Thankfully I was able to take the next exit and got home safely.

She probably doesn't like the sketchy beardos stumbling into your house on the way to band practice rambling about the leg room in your shitter.
