Re: Jimmy Jammers Jam Joint: Album of the Day
I got to be truthful, from at least from my point of view. The first half of this album is live middle of the road blues/rock covers. Nothing really worth remembering, & probably just filler to get the next ZZ Top album out, after there record breaking tour. Now the second half is a totally different Horned Toad! Studio recorded, it matches the best of any ZZ Top album. It starts at 15:58, for those inclined to skip the first half. From 1975, here is ZZ Top, "Fandango" album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZ-Y_WUN7hY

Re: Jimmy Jammers Jam Joint: Album of the Day
Though I enjoy the many songs on this album, many are on "Be Bop Deluxe's, "Live in the Air Age" album, that I like better. Their more guitar driven & energetic, that one is unavailable right now on Youtube. Still, this is a very GOOD album & Bill Nelson is a helluva guitarist! From 1976, here is Be Bop Deluxe, "Sunbirst Finish." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IB57PKn27t4

Master of Reality is my favorite Ozzy-era Sabbath album, easily. My friend's band, Mortality Work, did a great cover of "Children of the Grave" when I saw them live on the weekend.

Re: Jimmy Jammers Jam Joint: Album of the Day
I was disappointed in this album the first time I heard it, & didn't pick it up until several years back. It seemed like an eternity that I waited for Boston's second album, & I was mad I had to wait so long after the first, just to be let down. In retrospect, this is a very good album, not the masterpiece the first was, but how many albums are Funny title though, "Don't Look Back," for if anything this band looked back far to long at their first in making this album. What resulted was the same formula, but knocked down from 100 proof to just 75. Still, this is a good album! From 1978, here is Boston, "Don't Look Back. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIh37rSnHPI
