I'm sorry to hear about those cancer-related stories, and I offer my condolences to you all. All I can really say is the obvious statement that cancer really fucking sucks. My grandma is currently battling it, after being in remission for around 21 years. She beat breast cancer twice, but now the cancer has come back in her bones. Also, a good friend of my sister's fiance and his family passed away on Sunday. He had a really tough battle from what I've heard.

Man, the politics at my workplace annoy the fuck out out me. People feeding each other disinformation, screwing each other for sales, acting like they are hot shit because they've worked the same retail job for longer than the next guy, getting pissed when people follow direct instructions because it screws over their little schemes, ratting on each other for an ego boost, whining about the fucking DUMBEST shit... JUST FUCK OFF!

The politics at my work I can handle. What I can't handle are the politics played by working with province staff. What a bunch of fuckheads - I can't get anything done, because they keep asking me to generate more reports about completely useless and pointless shit. And all it's for is so they can cover their own asses.

I am a full-time senior administrator at a private college that trains Nurses and Health Care Aides. I also work with several provincial departments for things like curriculum and business compliance, student finances, employment training, and training immigrants with nursing training from other countries. I also sit on several provincial committees with other stakeholders in the post-secondary sector.

I am also a part-time physiology instructor for Nursing students at one of Edmonton's fine universities.

However, I just got a new job offer last week to take on a job teaching doctors.

Lately, I've been feeling like I have something stuck in my throat, or like I can't swallow properly. It gets worse after I eat. It doesn't hurt, but it is very uncomfortable. My concern is that it might be a hiatal hernia. I'm going to the doctor on Monday. Hopefully she can help me.

I absolutely need to do something about my sleep schedule. Beyond the actual amount of hours, I find it difficult to not wait until the last possible second to get up, forcing me to make a mad scramble to get to work on time and stressing me the fuck out.

i just discovered the secret to good, solid sleep (which is, in turn, the secret to waking up easily in the morning). don't do drugs before bed (this includes caffeine, alcohol, and weed), don't watch tv or movies before bed, and get some physical exertion into your day. if you're tired and sore when you go to bed you will wake up feeling fabulous.

Not to be callous, but if it's made it to the liver and lungs already, that is pretty end-stage stuff.
