Railway City Honey Elixir. Did an image search. I'm going to pass on this one. That brewery is just bad. Nevermind Railway City Honey Elixir. Did an image search. I'm going to pass on this one. That brewery is just bad. Cool label, too bad they had to get too bad they had to change it, because it at least had that going for it, coming from Railway City. Let me know how it is though. I am really curious about the Beau's, though! Took me awhile to post back but yup, that is it. I will let you know how the Beau's are. I've never had a Saison before so this should be interesting. if you tried this during the past summer, it is a saison, and it was delicious!

I picked up a 6er each of Don de Dieu and Trois Pistoles when coming back from MDM, and I'm gonna make those things last weeks if I can

Of all the beer you could buy in Quebec, you bought Trois Pistoles?

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
I actually quelled my expectations for this one quite a bit, because i didn't want to be too disapointed. Turned out I liked it a lot. It seemed a tad... watery i suppose, but still was delicious. More subdued chocolate than i though. Very dark, rich chocolate though, like a dark chocolate milk almost. Stormland pretty much nailed that, and also nailed it when he said this an do with some age. I will be buying another bottle to drink in a few months and another to save for a good long time. It also smelled, poured and looked beautiful. I am excited about this beer. I also noticed it was Beer #1 of a supposed 'Treble Clef Series'. I anticipate what they have in store for us next in this series.

This year, since everyone told me the Pumking was better than last year I bought a haul of that for the whole family. Now that BNL has done me so well I'm thinking of doubling up on my family this year and getting them all one of each. Due to my recent accident. I'm so broke, that's the only gift I'm giving this year, lol.

I ran into an issue where youtube would deny me the ability to upload a video because it kept reading into my videos as being duplicates of what I had already uploaded. Which was not the case. In order to get them on youtube I'm going to have to start editing. Something I never have time for. . . . sigh

I was watching some of them last night and trying to find your review on the Bog Water as I assumed you would probally do one seeing as it is an Ontario beer that was unique.

Absolutely, I can easily say I've reviewed every beer on our shelves. Beer store or Lcbo. I'll get back on that. I'm becoming overwhelmed by the amount of comments that have flooded in and I haven't uploaded a video in about 6 months. I'm on it! \m/ \m/

Mmm, I picked up a bottle of bog water myself, it's delicious. The unique flavor is from a plant called myrica or sweet gale. The Vikings used it as well to flavor mead.

I am waiting a few more weeks until I get to go down to the states to pick up a bunch of brews. Any suggestions I should get? Going to a Wegmans near the Border to New York.

That is where i went the first time, but if you are able to take the extra 20 minute drive, i HIGHLY recommend going to Premier Gourmet. Either way, that Wegmans, when i was there had the following i hightly recommend. They had many beers by: Smuttynosoe Stone Dogfish Head Sierra Nevada Torpedo is a must! If you aren't spending as much i did, then go with some Stone above all else, I'd say. Again though, if you go to Premiere Gourmet which is another 20 minutes down the highway, the beer selection will blow your mind. Whereas Wegman's mostly has your basic stuff, PG has a ton of the rarer, more specialty beer stuff. They have many more top quality brewery's like Bear City and Great Divide, and it's all shelved by country and by state in the US section. They are extremely friendly people too, and they even have a few beer guys to help you out if you have any questions. It puts the LCBO to absolute shame to be honest. DO IT! http://www.premiergourmet.com/

Wegmans is a major grocery store chain in NY and some other parts of the Northeast. About two years ago, they went all in on the beer and every one of their stores in my area has a very good selection. The stuff that Blasphomet suggested is all good, although some of Smuttynose stuff isn’t up to par. I think that Ithaca Flower Power IPA should be on the top of your list, and I am fairly sure that they have it there. Actually, about 85% of the beers that I post in this thread were bought at a Wegmans, and the ones in the Buffalo area have the same distributor as the ones near me. Look back through the thread at some of the things that I have posted, and ask if you have questions about any of them.

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
I was going to mention the Flower Power, possibly my favourite IPA from down there so far, but i got mine at the Premier Gourmet. I don't think i saw it at the Wegman's he plans on going to, but obviously they could have gotten some at this point.
Put Flower Power to the top of the list as Anhur says!

The chain stores around me (southeast Michigan) have an ok beer selection, but if you want anything beyond Sam Adams, Sierra Nevada, and a few of the larger local breweries (Bells, Founders), you have to go to a liquor/beer store. Thankfully theres a number of awesome ones with great selections.

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
Ithaca is a funny brewery (similar to Smuttynose in this regard) in that a lot of their stuff is painfully average, but a couple of their beers are flat out amazing. I would recommend that you stick to the Flower Power or the Cascazilla. Those two rule, but most of their other ones taste sort of like average homebrew. If you buy any bombers, look for Middle Ages Wailing Wench or their Dragonslayer Stout. They are pretty safe overall if you want to grab a six pack of something, and want to be sure that the beer is at least good. Troges is another one that is good for a safe bet six pack. Their Perpetual IPA rocks hard. Oh, and if you see anything by Founders you should buy it, they rock out with their cocks out.
