Gotta say, that Dark Side Of The Moon wine - if you don't like it, you're REALLY not gonna like it. One sip and you're tasting it for like five minutes.

Last I checked it was a beer thread, just saying.

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
Got the following tonight: I was pretty lucky scoring the IPA as it's not in a lot of stores right now, and even luckier with the Brooklyn as it's only in 3 stores according to the website. The IPA was really good, but I don't notice a ton of difference over the regular one. It went down very smooth, but maybe it's because I didn't have it cold, just straight off the shelf.

Okay, fear not. I'll stay out of your - - beer snobbery thread.

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
Perfect image because I myself bought two. Somewhere between $25 and $30 for the two. I will be aging one. I've had one now at this point. I am really impressed; however, there is a strange after-taste in there from those Ecuadorian cocoa beans they spoke of. Excellent chocolate flavor. The most chocolate I've ever tasted in a beer. The aged bottle will be so much better. It's still really good none-the-less. Almost gave it a 10. I gave it a 9.5 out of 10.

I passed on it but would like to get it soon enough.

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
Finally cracking open one of my Stone Vertical Epics. It was their special 11-11-11 beer meant to be aged one year for 11-11-12. I'm a few weeks late but it tastes amazing. 9.4%, spiced ale. Very full flavor. Nice stuff. Sorry the picture is so small. Photobucket is stupid these days.

It's better than the white, that's for sure. I bought it two or three years ago when they released that gift pack that came with the crystal chalice. Ok, so here's my update on the Rogue Pumpkin. It's fucking disgusting. Almost equally as gnarly as the Bacon Maple Syrup if you can believe that! If you still have it, return that shit and get your money back. The fuller's vintage was exquisite. Reminded me of Rogue's Double Dead Guy Ale (the one they get right). Honestly though, I think Rogue is digging their grave with their latest releases. I wonder how the new mead is, but from what I hear it's practically impossible to fuck up. I had the Rogue tonight and thought it was good, but it was just ahead of the Howe Sound Pumpkineater. It was more pronounced in the nose and flavour for sure, but not "disgusting" as you put it. I have my Fuller's sitting in the fridge still. I opened the St. Ambroise Vintage tonight, and it was fucking fantastic. This brewery doesn't ever fuck anything up, do they? My other buddy thought I over reacted too, but my gf didn't like it either. Perhaps I got a bad batch.

It is very clear, can see my full hand through it. Nice head white head on it, disappears fairly fast but it tastes very nice and smooth going down. Has a bit of a fruit and malt character to it. Looks awesome dude. I think we should set that date. You're the mentor, lol. When's your plan to brew the next batch?

Nice, so I can drink that bottle I put aside for yah? I did notice a difference in the beers for sure. Sure, very smooth, but there was more flavor to the double.

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
Had a couple of visits to the Dieu du Ciel brewpub this weekend. Man, that place is like heaven. I was trying to find some pics, but no dice. Only tried a few this weekend: Barbarossa (rye beer), Nativité Noir (schwarz weizen), and the most delicious: Symbiose (sour beer). Good ties spent eating pretzels, drinking beer and playing dice. Can't wait to visit again next year with more money.

Upon drinking a couple more, I did notice a tiny bit more flavour. It's great for sure, but doesn't seem much different from the original.

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
I have an announcement for those who may take advantage of the Eglinton and Laird LCBO location as much as I do. If anybody has noticed the construction that is being taken place around that plaza, I got the news. The location has done so remarkably well (I probably take full responsibility for this...... LOL!) that they are creating a whole new building for lcbo. They will no longer be right next to the stinky grocery store they complain about. They will be moving into the newly constructed building attached to the plaza and it will be considered to be "the newest biggest lcbo in Toronto." Apparently they are going to have the largest beer selection in Toronto as soon as it is open for business.
UBER GOOD NEWS FOR ME!
That, and anybody coming off the 401 highway to get beer they can't get in their town...will prefer to stop at this one from now on rather than going all the way South to Queens Quay and Jarvis. That will save you at least 30 minutes in travel time.

Will have to check this out.

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
Grabbed a couple of the Flying Mokeys BNL stout last night.
Still not sure why the Rogue Yellow Snow is only in one LCBO and almost gone. Glad I grabbed 12 a few weeks ago. It's really not that special, but still, it's a quality IPA and something different. Wish it would hit more stores at some point.

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
I dunno if there are going to more gift packs coming, and from what we all saw, it was a pretty week gift pack selection this year, but man, there really aren't very many, and every single one of them was available last year. Maybe they are just focusing more on seasonal beer instead of the gift pack this year, since there do seem to be a lot of those. And the Celebrator is back again!

Yeeah, I saw that Celebrator back on the shelf again too. I was upset with this years Holiday gift pack selection; however, I was relieved at the same time too, just considering my current money situation and all. And they didn't have the Leffé mix pack with a crystal chalice glass this year like they did two or three years ago either. Also, no new real hob goblin glass, just the stupid mix pack with the scarecrow. They'll learn, one of these days.
