Never had any of your picks outside of the Brown Sugga‘, and while that one is certainly unique I don’t care for it. One of my friends is a big fan though. I picked these up on my way home from work. And Rusty, I don’t know why people get different hangovers from different things, but I can tell you that there are no chemicals in that beer. It’s just mostly just poorly made pilsner.

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
I love that Cobb's Hill stuff.
I've been looking for that Lukcy Basartd to no avail, but, I bought another 4 pack of the Chicory Stout. Every year I buy it, and, every year I am kinda disappointed by it.

Chicory Stout is a beer that I have loved for many years. It doesn’t hold up as well against today’s market as it did when it was first released, but I still always enjoy it. It’s nice to have a good solid stout that isn’t too over the top, especially since it seems that everybody is going big with their beers these days. I love the double this, and triple that’s that everybody is doing but Chicory Stout is a good stout to drink a few of in a sitting. You don’t feel like you just downed a glass of motor oil (often delicious motor oil) after you drink it, and can move right on to other things. The Lukcy Bastard just showed up here this week. I did some research on it and it seems that this year’s batch was bottled at the end of October. You might want to keep your eyes open for it in the coming weeks. I will let you know what I think of it later tonight.

It's better than the white, that's for sure. I bought it two or three years ago when they released that gift pack that came with the crystal chalice. Ok, so here's my update on the Rogue Pumpkin. It's fucking disgusting. Almost equally as gnarly as the Bacon Maple Syrup if you can believe that! If you still have it, return that shit and get your money back. The fuller's vintage was exquisite. Reminded me of Rogue's Double Dead Guy Ale (the one they get right). Honestly though, I think Rogue is digging their grave with their latest releases. I wonder how the new mead is, but from what I hear it's practically impossible to fuck up. I had the Rogue tonight and thought it was good, but it was just ahead of the Howe Sound Pumpkineater. It was more pronounced in the nose and flavour for sure, but not "disgusting" as you put it. I have my Fuller's sitting in the fridge still. I opened the St. Ambroise Vintage tonight, and it was fucking fantastic. This brewery doesn't ever fuck anything up, do they?

There's something deeply absurd about this - I doubt I would've bought it myself even if I were a Pink Floyd fan - but what the hell, I'll be opening on the weekend and am looking forward to it. Neither of these are beer.

America is the best nation on earth for quality beer, it's just a good chunk of the population doesn't know it.

I've come to love how the Hops and Sugar play off of each other. Though, I've set 2 bottles aside. Gonna age 'em for 6 months or so, and let the hops fall off completely, turning into the SugarBomb I had originally hoped for.

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
Well here is the picture of my 2nd home brew beer. Looks pretty damn good. It looks like a dark amber going on a Red/brown colour. It is very clear, can see my full hand through it. Nice head white head on it, disappears fairly fast but it tastes very nice and smooth going down. Has a bit of a fruit and malt character to it.

Gonna age 'em for 6 months or so, and let the hops fall off completely, turning into the SugarBomb I had originally hoped for. I had one at my friend’s house and was really interested in it. I picked up a six pack of it for myself, but with each one that I drank I liked it less and less. I think that it was the sweetness of it, mixed with the hops that started to get to me. It’s a cool beer though, and I always like it when brewers do something new. The Lucky Bastard was a real treat, very tasty. I hope that you find a bottle of that. Also, have you (or anybody else here) had founders Bolt Cutter Barley Wine? I saw some bombers of it at the beer store, but it’s $23.00 a pop. It is 15% ABV, but I don’t want to drop that kind of money on something unless I know that it is going to be worth it. Oh yeah, there Devil Dancer Tripple IPA there too, but it's $19.00 for a 4 pack. Any body hae first hand knowledge of that one? Hera, nice to see you brewing and enjoying some of your own stuff. Get yourself a capper and some real bottles though. Those plastic ones are junk.

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
I do have a capper and a 48 set of vintage Miller High Lift glass bottles (12oz). Need more glass bottles though. So this 48 of plastic ones will do for now.

Just save the bottles from all of the bombers that you drink and recap them. It's less of a pain in the ass to bottle in to 22s anyway.

This is true, I've saved the bottle of the Howe Sound Pumpkin Eater Ale(1L bottles) and hoping to acquire a few more of those type of bottles with pop tops on them. Though we don't get many bombers up here. Those are 1L bottles right? Most we get are 750ml.

Bombers are normally 22 ounces here, but I don't know what that works out to when you use the metric system. Either way, any standard non-twist off bottle can be recapped and used for home brew. The ones with the flip tops are good too, and a lot of brew stores sell new gaskets for the top so that you can replace them if they wear out.

Re: NOW DRINKING - BEER SNOBBERY VOL. 4
I haven't Had Bolt Cutter yet, but, I'd pay in upwards of $25 for it.
As for Devil Dancer, I love it and feel that it's also worth the money.
Founders is my favorite brewery, so, I may be somewhat biased.
