Seriously, this picture makes me think I'm living in the wrong country. I mean, I've known all along, but this just validates everything.

Had some Rolling Rock at the bar last night. Beer lovers will probably turn up their nose at it, but I fucking love that stuff

Got these last night:

Obviously the vintage ales are both this year. Was shocked to see that Rogue in. It's not even showing stock on the website either.

I also tried out that Southern Tier Choklat last night, and holy shit, one of my favourite stouts now. Amazingly good!

Nice, it took me ears of pallet refining to start to enjoy that Fuller's special edition. I too was in awe when I saw the pumpkin patch. At first I thought I read Scotch something or other and thought to myself "Rogue could pull it off it nobody else can," but I guess I was happy to read that it was pumpkin. Just when I was starting to really get sick of pumpkin beers, lol.

I totally forgot we were getting that Rogue Pumpkin ale. It's a little late to the party though isn't it? Should have been out a month or more ago. It's almost winter now.

Is it any good? Anyone try it yet? Kinda pricey for 5.6%.

I loved both of those vintage ales. I haven't had the Fullers this year yet, though. SOON!

I totally burnt myself out on Pumpkin beer over the last two years. I only had one Saranac Pumpkin this year, and we only had that in the house because my wife wanted it. I couldn’t even muster up the desire to buy a Pumking, or a Dogfish Head Punk, and I usually really like those. Maybe next year. :(

Is it me or does Sam Adams Winter Lager show up and *poof* there's no more Octoberfest to be found? I've always found that kind of odd. I love those Fall beers but their shelf lives seem so short compared to the Winter/Summer beers.

Indulged in these over the past few days:

Image
Not much to say about this one. A great trappist ale. It has become a staple, but I like the White more.

Image
Loved this one. Perhaps the tastiest Barley Wine i've had to date, and i purchased one to age for a year or two as well, to see if it gets better. Very sweet, caramel and brown sugar. Seemed lighter than most in this style despite the 10% ABV.

Image
What can I say about this one... Maybe the best beer i've had this year. Reminded me wholey of Three Philosophers, just a little bit sweeter. Grapes, Banana, Cherry. Not much hops. Almost feels like drinking a wine, but this is a straight up beer in the tradition of wine. I don't think it is 'infused' with wine as Stormland stated, but he was correct about this being a high, high end beer.

I think that the problem is that they start putting them out in early August, and a lot of us ignore them until it cools down at the end of September. I really don’t like how the seasonal beers have all been getting pushed earlier and earlier out of their season in recent years. Christmas beers have been out since October, and that should be the meat of the fall beer season. I don't want to have a pumpkin beer at my summer BBQ, and I don't want a spiced winter beer in October.

Yah, I didn't read into it. That was just my general consensus. You didn't mention the awesome carmalised taste I pointed out though. :P

I think my fav Chimay is the blue label.

I've had Chimay Red and White but not Blue...how is blue compared to the others?

Last night I had the Double Chocolate Cranberry Stout and it was pretty damn Chocolate tasting, a bit of Cranberry at first then dies off. Also been drinking my 2nd batch of beer, its aged for a short bit and it tastes really pleasant and pretty sessionable at 5.9% Will take a picture of it shortly and post it.

I've never had the blue either. I think it only comes around every couple three years at xmas time.

Just another tidbit. I realized i hadn't seen Duvel in a long time, and went on the LC website, and noticed it is barely in any stores anymore. I guess they are in between shipments since it doesn't say it's discontinued. I'd like a nice Duvel :)

The blue has the highest abv of the three. The three go in order in one of the following ways. 6,7 and 8% abv or 7,8 and 9% abv. I don't remember. It's better than the white, that's for sure. I bought it two or three years ago when they released that gift pack that came with the crystal chalice.

Ok, so here's my update on the Rogue Pumpkin. It's fucking disgusting. Almost equally as gnarly as the Bacon Maple Syrup if you can believe that! If you still have it, return that shit and get your money back.

The fuller's vintage was exquisite. Reminded me of Rogue's Double Dead Guy Ale (the one they get right).

Honestly though, I think Rogue is digging their grave with their latest releases. I wonder how the new mead is, but from what I hear it's practically impossible to fuck up.

The pumpkin came out way too late anyways. I have decided I'm totally not interested. And i have a feeling a lot of it is going to sit on shelves because of the time of year, the price, and now as you've said, because it just ain't very good.

Well I will keep a look out for Chimay Blue label now. And that Bacon Maple Syrup some how the albino rhino crew on youtube really enjoyed this brew. :?

Saw that the lcbo had Double Dead Guy Ale again and going back to pick it up, as well as I am hoping to get a Rogue Dead Guy Ale Beer kit clone around Christmas.

Got these on my birthday...

Quite tasty and goes down nice but doesn't mix with anything at all.

Haven't tried it yet. There's something deeply absurd about this - I doubt I would've bought it myself even if I were a Pink Floyd fan - but what the hell, I'll be opening on the weekend and am looking forward to it.

I don’t drink mass produced American beer, but I can tell you that there is nothing in it but grain, yeast, water, and hops. There are no chemicals added in the brewing process, they just skimp on pretty much everything that gives beer it’s flavor. Sometimes I think that getting hangovers from certain kinds of cheap beer is just a byproduct of being able to suck them down like water, and having to have so many to get the same buzz that you would from half the amount of regular craft brewed beer.

i can hammer down 15 Guinness pints on tap & never had a hangover, woke up drunk, but no pain like american vomitsauce.
Labatts, molsen XXX, any German bier, NO HANGOVERS AT ALL, but throw in 2 u.s. beers & its pain in the a.m. WTF. now newcastle brown is a whole different ballgame, i think i was dying the next morningm that shit is damn good, but holy shit it kills your brain. like Marriot said " Newcastle brown, it will sure smack you down "
