Burn it.

Decent player, but clearly a complete and utter idiot. No one has done anything as stupid as that in a long long time in sports. He has no brain.

Even his 'apology' press conference was a disaster. I don't care what kind of a dickbag a player is as long as he performs, and isn't stupid enough to actually write something on his face so retardedly. He can play a bit, but the fact is, he really isn't that great a player, and is the furthest thing from a 'difference maker'.

I don't expect athletes to be role models, but that was just, insanely insanely stupid. And i'm not shocked no one said anything to him on the bench. I think they just allowed the idiot to dig his own grave... and clearly we know what John Farrell didn't care. He checked out a long time ago.

So Bud Selig is examining the Blue Jays Marlins trade.

Because it's not the Yankees getting the players.

Sounds about right.

If the trade get nixed, I wouldn't be surprised... and he might as well come out and say "Sorry Toronto, we really don't want you in the league to begin with."

The only way it gets nixed is if one of the players involved fails their physical. Selig is just putting on a show to pretend he actually gives a shit. There is no way he acknowledges any wrong doing on the part of his bff, Jeffrey Loria.

I don't think the trade will get overturned, because Selig knows he'd be starting a shit storm for all future trades.

Total bullshit scenario though... Can't say if Miami was hosed or not. They're taking a chance on the prospects... and Escobar. If that doesn't pay off, then oh well, shit happens. Maybe the youngsters will cash in.

Let's bring Ozzie Guillen aboard in Toronto too. He needs a job, and he's always good for comic value. :8D:

Escobar is a nothing piece in this trade. He's an idiot, and an average player at best.

The three prospects from the Jays, and really 3 prospects guaranteed to be to play in the majors, with high end potential.

fuck no, all the joy from this trade would be gone in an instant if they hire Guillen.

I just read Miami intends to play Escobar at third if they don't flip him in another deal. Makes him even less valuable, his bat doesn't play at third on a real team.

I wasn't really serious when I said that... except for Guillen being a good source of comic value. :8D:

Still need a manager in any case.

As far as I know, Dan Gilbert is not involved.

Fuck me, looks like it's all or nothing for the Jays this coming year. I wonder what made Rogers loosen their wallet for Anthopolous like this. Not having enough cash was Ricciardi's biggest complaint, which he was quite vocal about.

The Jays are a team that should be like any sports team though... they do well, they sell tickets and make more money. They do shitty, and they get shitty attendance(though not compared to some cities, like Tampa Bay...). If all these guys plus whoever else they may get in the off season work out, they should have a team competing for a Playoff position.

Well now that they own the Leafs too, the Blue Jays can benefit from all the money that the Leafs make and are unable to spend under the cap. That's what this looks like to me anyways.

Still waiting for this fucking trade to be confirmed though. Like they just said on the radio... if it was the Yankees or Dodgers or Red Sox or any large market US team for that matter, it would have been confirmed within minutes.

The joke going around is that Phil Jackson wants to manage the Jays.

Can't feel bad about the length of the contract. Ex druggies come cheap and get short contracts.
