Gonzalez homered on the second pitch he saw as a Dodger tonight.

Great, Bautista came back today and rehurt his wrist right away.

Not that it matters now anyways. He should just take the rest of the season off.

actually he came back last night, but yeah they should probably just make him call it a year and let it heal properly. They called up Hech to replace him, which probably means a lot more of McCoy in the outfield for the next week until rosters expand. :/

You know, I kind of felt bad for Romero in his last start. He finally pitched a great one. The Jays just couldn't give him the offense he needed to get his first win in months. Today he's pitching like his regular old self. Pulled in the second inning after letting in 7 runs.

I'd still trade Jimenez or Fausterto Carnandez for him.

Fuck the Cubs.
I'm glad that Nats third base coach told that bum to shut the fuck up.

It's a DC team, I'm sure they'll fuck it up somehow.

But it has been a fun summer. I'd say they are a year or two early for this kind of performance (I figured we'd be contenders in 2013 at the earliest) so it's been a nice surprise.

And for the record, Strasburg is only our 3rd best pitcher and his last few starts have been shaky. Would I'd like to continue to have him in the rotation? Yes. Can we win without him? Absolutely.

Nats :m: :m: :m: :m:

ahahaha, Yunel Escobar was suspended for 3 games by the Blue Jays for writing "TU ERE MARICON" under his eyes for Saturday's game. That roughly translates to "You are a Faggot"

Good riddance I say... I'd much rather watch an old Omar Visquel play than Escobar anyways.

I have never seen anything so bizarre.

If you didn't have a chance to hear/see Escobar's press conference, I can tell you right now it was an absolute joke... it was uncomfortable, pointless... and the Jays come out looking just as stupid as he does for not suspending him for the rest of the season at least. They should have released him outright, but i guess they have hope they can still trade him.

People are pissed, and so they should be.

Oh, and in case you didn't know, Escobar made sure to let us know he has gay friends. He actually said that his hair dresser is gay, and the person that decorates his home is gay. Hooooooooooly fuck. I kid you not. When the English translator translated for the Spanish translator, it sounded like he couldn't believe what he was about to say. And yes, that's right, he had a translator for a translator. So like a weird presser? You betcha!

We all knew he was a goof... but after listening to that train wreck of a press conference, it's clear he thinks the entire city of Toronto is complete stupid.

Yep, pretty much the equivalent of when people say "I'm not racist, I have a black friend." The fact that the entire organization claimed ignorance is horrible.

Especially considering the gay community in Toronto of all places. I mean, really???

I hope somebody in the locker room put him up to it, because it's a whole new level of stupid if he did this unprovoked.

So it somehow makes it better if there are two complete idiots in the locker room?

No, but it does make it more understandable as to why someone would actually go out and do it for all the world to see. If he acted completely on his own, that would be even worse. And maybe he did, but I doubt he'd come out (no pun intended) and admit it if true.

Locker rooms aren't the most forward-thinking places in this world, and this is clearly a negative reflection of that.

So Baltimore is all but in the playoffs. Only question is do they take first in the AL East or are they going to have to fight their way in against Oakland with this 2 Wildcard business.

Either way, not bad for a team that was 69-93 last year, 66-96 the year before that, 64-98 the year before that, 68-93 the year before that, 69-93 the year before that, 70-92 the year before that, and... I could go on for many more years.

Moneyball? I think not... you just have to... fuck, I don't know how they managed to do so well this year.

I have no delusions of locker rooms being this vast heavenly paragon of acceptance and intelligence, but I would rather think of Escobar as an isolated idiot than an example of the pervasive thought in the clubhouse. I still don't understand how you think that the existence of two (or more) morons is better than the existence one moron.
