and iiiiit's... Brad Lincoooooln! Of the Pittsburgh Pirates *Kermit style YAYYYYYYYY!* An attempt to bolster the pitching staff I suppose. The bullpen at that. No sir, I don't like this trade right away... I think Snitter still had a ton of potential, and he'll probably shine with the Pirates and go to the playoffs while this guy pitches innings for the Jays while they're already down 9-2.

Maybe they'll try Rajaj (I can't spell that damn name!) Davis? Dude has some serious legs on him. If they're serious about manufacturing runs this year, that's the guy they'd want on base every chance they get.

Think to the future, but yes, I say use Rajai as well. His hitting has improved quite a bit this year.

Yeah, with all the injuries it's pretty much a given that they won't make either wildcard spot. But I'd like to see them at least try their hardest to do so, until it's mathematically impossible. That's when you start playing all your young kids that are coming up and need a chance.

I actually forgot Cooper was back up when I wrote that so he can dh. If AA doesn't make another trade today that involves an outfielder coming to the Jays I assume Moises Sierra comes up until JoeyBats comes off the DL.

Re: 2012 Baseball Thread: Trade Deadline Day
Seriously. Fuck the Yankees. I just fell asleep (because I was up til 5 am and got back up at 8 and need a nap if I'm helping someone move later today), and I was woken up by a dream about this. I had to check to see if the whole thing was a dream, so now I've had my heart broken by this trade twice.

Yeah, seeing Ichiro in a Yankee uni just seems so blasphemic. I'm hoping the Angels can keep scoring 15 runs against the Rangers each game.

Although that new japanese guy that pitched last night looks like he could be a gem? But what do I know about baseball. Fuck baseball.

Re: 2012 Baseball Thread: Trade Deadline Day
A pretty quiet trade deadline day. Then again, since there are only a few teams legitimately out of both wild card slots, that's not surprising.
If this continues for a few seasons, perhaps MLB might move the deadline back a couple weeks into august.

They looked good in the first inning then I dunno what happened after that. I didn't see him get pulled out but read about it today. It's too bad they got rid of him, the day before I heard he had a steak pardy with his teammates/friends "15 ribeyes, 15 filets, 16 teammates, friends, and family. It don't get much better" was what he tweeted. Pretty cool guy I'd say. But they do need better pitchers. Boo haze better win tonite.

Felix Hernandez: 27 up, 27 down. Seattle has been on both ends of a perfecto this year.

So, Fausterto Hermona made his return tonight. It's as if he's never left.

They'd trade him anywhere by this point. But I don't think anyone would be that desperate.

Going to the Jays game tomorrow. Not horrible seats. 3rd row up the foul line in left field. I'll have Rajai Davis and David Murphy to heckle.

http://www.nesn.com/2012/08/umpire-greg ... video.htmlHome plate umpire Greg Gibson gets an inadvertant cleat from Torii Hunter at home plate near the eye. This could have been completely disastrous. From Wed night's game on 8/15.

Saw it live (obviously). Thank goodness Hunter was wearing plastic cleats.

Holy Jeez - I'm watching my White Sox destroy your Jays tonight and they had to stop the game because a fan in the seats had a grabber. They carted him off and were working on him as they do so. Hope he makes it.
