So much for Weaver's no-hitter being the spark that the Angels needed.

The way the matchups in the fantasy league are scored right now, I'd be tied for first place if the week were over.

It's always awesome to see a team that was highly predicted to at the very least make the Playoffs if not go all the way bomb so bad... unless of course you are a fan of said team. Still early in the season yet though. Come July if they're still wrestling over last place then something went seriously wrong.

 Re: 2012 Baseball Thread
Another quality start for Brandon Morrow... So far anyways. 3 great starts and something like 21 scoreless innings in a row now. Already punched out 7 through 4 and a third today. There's a reason I bought a Morrow jersey last year and not some bum like Jose Bautista. Morrow today almost makes me get over the fact that the Jays blew ANOTHER FUCKING SAVE! last night... Fuck. That's what? 7 blown saves already? They'd be first if they got just 3 of those back. They're going to try their hand at Janssen closing now.

First 3 up 3 down in a closing situation this season for the Jays. Pathetic stat, but good news

REPORT: Blue Jays Sign Vladimir Guerrero to minor league deal. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/05/b ... rrero.htmlI like this a lot. It is essentially zero risk/low cost move if he makes it to the Jays at some point, which I am sure he will. Still hit .290 last season with the O's. Not bad.

 Re: 2012 Baseball Thread
It's still Bizarro AL East so far this year... I love it. Yankees and Boston 4th and 5th... with Baltimore in 1st. ... Bautista with a nice throw out to third just now. At least he still has an arm.

 Re: 2012 Baseball Thread
I can really see why Minnesota is sporting that stellar 8-22 record. This game is brutal so far.
Alvarez is busy playing with a towel trying to keep his arm warm in the third.

How did you like that stellar play by the Minnisota's on that infield pop fly?

 Re: 2012 Baseball Thread
What do you think about them signing the Impaler today?
If anything, I'm hoping it jump starts the likes of Bautista and Lind a little, knowing that if Guerrero performs, they might not be as secure. At least Lind anyway.

 Re: 2012 Baseball Thread
I think it's a great signing! They signed him for pretty much pocket change when it comes to an MLB contract, and it's not like he's ancient or anything. He had an amazing season just 2 years ago.
With him around, if he gets himself in shape, I could see Lind getting less play time, as EE can take 1st and Vlad can serve as DH.

Yep, I'm just hoping for the time being it might like a spark underneath the underachievers, and we'll go from there.

 Re: 2012 Baseball Thread
Josh Beckett skipped a game to go golfing? I only know this because I foolishly chose him... This little news blurb was up about him. "RHP Josh Beckett missed a start last week because of a sore lat muscle, but according to WBZ-FM, it didn't stop him from playing golf May 3. Beckett wasn't available for comment Wednesday, having left the Red Sox to fly back to Boston to prepare for a start Thursday night against the Indians. Meanwhile, manager Bobby Valentine said he hadn't gotten the chance to speak with Beckett about the situation. Beckett was at the center of last September's flap over pitchers eating fried chicken and drinking beer in the clubhouse during games. (Yahoo! Sports)"

Blue Jays are reportedly talking to the Phillies about Cole Hamels and Shane Victorino.
