 Re: 2012 Baseball Thread
My paycheck every month is equivalent to what Pujols makes in a half an inning.

He gets paid more for a strike than I do in two months.

 Re: 2012 Baseball Thread
So this got me thinking about actually making some of these guys earn their pay cheques, obviously, the longer an inning goes, the more work they're doing (unless they're the team in the dugout). http://thelongestlistofthelongeststuffatthelongestdomainnameatlonglast.com/long490.html wrote: What was the longest inning in Major League Baseball?
On Saturday, May 8, 2004 in Arlington, Texas the Detroit Tigers met the Texas Rangers in a game the Rangers would win in the 10th inning by a score of 16-15.
The 5th inning started with an 8 pitch walk, followed by 7 pitch walk, then a 5 pitch walk. By the time the top of the inning was over the Tigers had faced 54 pitches and recorded 8 runs.
Being the home team the Rangers did not want to be out done, they faced 56 pitches and knocked in 10 runs.
The entire inning saw 110 pitches, 18 runs and lasted 1 hour and 8 minutes, the longest inning in MLB history. Vewy intewesting.

Quite the emotional day for So Cal sports fans. It starts with shocking, sad, and depressing news and it ends on a high note. Congrats to JW!! Oh, and that Bryce Harper kid has potential also!

After last night, The Angels must have come into tonight's game feeling high and mighty... too bad for them Morrow decided to steal their souls. He threw something like 75% strikes.

Mariano Rivera, possible career ending injury. Brutal for him.

That's pushing the whole "in the neighborhood" thing a bit too much.

Isn't he their best closer? David Robertson will likely take over closing duties and he's been lights out for the past year. I had Rivera in the fantasy league - luckily I was able to pick up Robertson haha. But if this is the end of the road for Mo, as many expect, what a career. Instant Hall of Famer whether you like the Yankees or hate them.
