I've managed to hold off so far, but I can see the floodgates pouring open when I get this one.

I got a tattoo a few years ago to pay tribute to my father. I teared up a few times, but it wasn't because of the pain. I was pretty emotional the whole time. Anyway, I'd love to see pictures of your tattoo when it's done. I imagine you'll post a couple here.

Re: Rest in peace Rab - Funeral Info In First Post
I absolutely will I just hope I can get into an appointment in time to have it done for the funeral. I'm not sure how long it'll take since the only tats I have are small, but I'm anticipating a couple of hours worth at least. Totally worth it for Rab.

i still dont really have words. the last conversation we had was about some shirts he'd shipped to me a while back. they havent arrived and he told me to message him the next day so he could check the tracking number from work. and, well i never got to. if that package arrives now it's going to just break my heart.

I'm very sorry to hear about this. We did some trading a few years back and he sent me a killer Motorhead "Bastards" shirt. My condolences to his family.

Re: Rest in peace Rab - Funeral Info In First Post
This really sucks to hear. I didn't know Rab, being new to the board and all, but I've read about him a lot over the months since he was such an important part of people's lives. Reading these comments shows me the void he will leave behind.
From reading about him, he seems like a guy I would have been friends with if we lived in the same city. It sounds like he was a major part of the TO metal scene. I go to a lot of shows in the NJ/NY area and see some of the same faces a lot, of course. People you routinely chat with at shows and grab some before or after show beers with. Rab seems like he would be one of them. It's always good to see these guys out there supporting. There are too few of us dedicated metalheads and it looks like his absence will be noticed by many.
27 is way too young to die. My heart goes out to all of you, his friends and his family.

Re: Rest in peace Rab - Funeral Info In First Post
Does anyone know if the family is accepting donations or how to send any (if at all possible?)
I tried to figure it out with the funeral home page, but I can't.

I'm absolutely heartbroken to have lost one of my closest friends, but when I think of him, I can't help but smile and think, "What a guy!". He did so much that many other people only dream and wish they could do. Already deeply missing my partner in the sort of ultimate retardedness that resulted in Detsorgsekalf. Hope to see some of you on Friday. I've missed seeing you here. Sorry that it took this to bring you back. I hope you and your bro will drop by more often. I miss seeing the Dets crew here.

This is a fantastic tribute and one I think Rab himself would have appreciated. It's so hard in a situation like this to find any appropriate response to the terrible thing that's happened, but I think you've managed to do it!
