I am actually in tears right now, I can't even fucking believe it. The fact that someone like Rab could be taken from us proves there is no reason to the universe at all. I cannot think of very many people who are less deserving of such a shockingly young death. RIP

First impression all those years ago: he was a good kid. The impression remains. Rest in peace, young Mr. Cranny. I'm sorry you didn't get the full life you deserved.

Wow, just found out about this on Facebook...shocked to say the least! I only met him once in NYC at an Iced Earth show, only talked to him for a few minutes, he gave me a bunch of promo cd's and such. VERY sorry for all his friends and family...RIP.

 Re: Rest in peace Rab
I just found out about this a few minutes ago. Horrible, horrible news! People have been calling me but I'm not really in a place where i feel comfortable talking on the phone...needless to say I'm shocked and saddened by this. He was a great guy and he was awesome to me all the times I was in Toronto and at Wacken Open Air. Stunning...so sad. My condolences go out to his family and everyone.

That's kind of what I had in mind. I did not intend to offend, I just don't make a habit of depression--especially in celebrating the life of someone so hilarious and comical.

Rob was one of my first friends in the Toronto metal scene. I just found out about this when I ran into Darcy about an hour and a half ago.... Since then, I'm breaking into tears every 5 minutes. Rest in peace my friend.

I'm finding it really hard to wrap my head around the concept of never seeing him again. Always the life of every party. I am just at a loss.
RIP Rob, you'll forever be missed.

 Re: Rest in peace Rab
I heard about his passing on several different peoples status' on facebook. It is truly devastating. I don't wanna believe it. Dood was a super nice guy. I'll always remember before shows I would give him my cd covers to let the bands he was interviewing sign it. My condolences to the Cranny family. see you in Valhalla, buddy.

 Re: Rest in peace Rab
Here was a man who lived on the edge, on his own terms.
I had a lot of good times and some not so good times with him, but the axe was buried and it was like nothing bad ever happened between us. I would send him funny links on FB, Megaman stuff etc and he LOVED that shit. I played on a couple of songs on one of Northern Storm's releases, and was glad I was able to help out.
I laffed my ass off at the letter he got from one of his neighbours asking him to stop swearing and cranking the sweet Metal. And I hoped to see him again and have a couple of thousand beers and laff over old times. I guess I waited too long.
