Some metal makes you feel like you are wandering across the windswept tundra, or are sitting in on some sinister ritual. Some metal makes you fell like a badass, or a puss chugging zombie. In the new Dimmu, we have an album that makes you feel like the ringmaster at a big gay circus full of homosexual clowns and prancing acrobats. I guess some people like that. What can I say?

It absolutely amazes me that the new Spiritual Beggars album is not on this list.

i was dissapointed with that one.no fire at all and the new guy doesnt hold a candle to JB and Spice.

I prefer to think of them as metrosexual clowns. Not gay just sensitive.

It's my album of the year, but it certainly is a puzzlement that it didn't make the top 100.

Deathspell should be getting more respect than it has - I just listened to it again, and it keeps getting better & better.

The only two albums that I really love from 2010 are Belus and Under the Sign of the Iron Cross.

Everything else by bands I like just disappointed me.

I think Raven's amazing comeback "Walk Through Fire" should have gotten a mention at least. Best album from them in 23 years.

That isn't saying a whole lot. I didn't bother with the new Kalessin because I didn't like the last one at all and I had lots of other stuff to listen to. But if that's the direction they've gone in, count me out.

I suggest to give it a try (d/l it). I wasn't impressed by Kollosus either. Reptilian is a heavier slab and some of the tracks are epic..amazing passages, and dare I say it..melodic (gasp). If you don't care for the first track - Dragon Iconography (it's killer), then you prob wouldn't like the rest. Cheers.

I think that it is way too polished, and almost sounds like a movie sound track at times. A friend of mine is a fan, and after several listens I had to concede that it does have a lot of good riffs on it. I still don’t like it though, it is pretty lifeless overall and has some awful songs on it like Dragon Tower. It isn’t horrible, but there are about a million better things for me to spend my time listening to.

I actually didn't mind Reptilian. Sure it's Hollywood-style epic black metal, but it was a step up from Kolossus and had some very cool moments.

Sadly I think KOK shot most of their load back on Armada.

That CD never did play correctly, come to think of it....
