Kinda sucks now because in the past two days I got the latest from Anathema, Forbidden and Woe. I'm guessing all three albums would have made my list had I gotten to them in time.

And I totally forgot about Hour of Penance, another one which should have been on my list.

Not one surprise there. Zero from me though.

Thanks for putting this together again. Some things to check out for me. I really have to go back to Triptykon as I passed on buying that as it took a long time to get into Monotheist and it sounded like a continuation of that on the few listens I gave it.

I would have to like something that was hip first.

Pretty solid year-end list I think! Not too shocked by how my picks fared, though I'm pleasantly surprised by how high Ihsahn ranked and also a little surprised (but not very) that Rhapsody didn't rank at all, especially with Blind Guardian still showing well.

I was only able to get maybe 6 or 7 new albums this year. I have a list of over 150 new albums I need to get when I get home in 2 months.

I didn't get a lot of albums in 2010 either, especially after I moved. Too much money being spent on survival. Long gone are the days of Uni when I could mope around record stores all day.

Seven of my choices charted, which is around what I expected. Does anyone find it strange that Acacia Strain made the list and Agrypnie didn't? I could swear people were pissing themselves over 16[485] a few months back, and Acacia Strain are pretty much the epitome of the hated bro mosh. Even as a fan of the band I thought Wormwood was pretty tired.

I have no probs with Enslaved being #1. It made my top 10 as well.

Also great to see Triptykon, Overkill, Fear Factory, Blind Guardian, and Accept in the top 10. They were top 10 albums for me.

As for the Ihsahn album, I guess the saxophone doesn't bother most people here like it does me.

And these albums were also ranked very high for me..
