 Re: Braveboard Top Albums of 2009
My list with BB list placements in parentheses.
1. Anaal Nathrakh - In The Constellation Of The Black Widow (87) 2. Rammstein - Liebe Ist Für Alle Da (19) 3. Oranssi Pazuzu - Muukalainen Puhuu (91) 4. Baroness - Blue Record (23) 5. Katatonia - Night Is The New Day (2) 6. Gorgoroth - Quantos Possunt Ad Satanitatem Trahunt (DNC) 7. Diablo Swing Orchestra - Singalong Songs For The Damned And Delirious (64) 8. Heaven + Hell - The Devil You Know (7) 9. Vader - Necropolis (21) 10. Suffocation - Blood Oath (20) 11. Karl Sanders - Saurian Exorcisms (90) 12. Mastodon - Crack The Skye (4) 13. Behemoth - Evangelion (24) 14. Clutch - Strange Cousins From The West (30) 15. Asphyx - Death The Brutal Way (15)
DNC = Did not chart.
Gorgoroth not even having made the list makes me a sad panda.

 Re: Braveboard Top Albums of 2009
Thanks to LOAF! Nice job. Gonna go thru the list now and make some comments but it is awesome to see The Chasm in the top 10! I guess now this means that the Elitists have now placed one foot off the Chasm bandwagon and are ready to jump.

 Re: Braveboard Top Albums of 2009
I have 18 out of the top 100 and considering that I only bought around 30 cds from 2009, that is not bad. CDs I own.3. Megadeth - Endgame 7. Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know 9. The Chasm - Farseeing The Paranormal Abysm 13. Candlemass - Death Magic Doom 16. Slayer - World Painted Blood 24. Behemoth - Evangelion 27. Sacrifice - The Ones I Condemn 28. Dream Theater - Black Clouds And Silver Linings 33. Kreator - Hordes of Chaos 43. Razor of Occam - Homage to Martyrs 44. Vektor - Black Future 69. Cauldron - Chained To The Nite 71. Grave Digger - Ballads of Hangman 72. The Gates of Slumber - Hymns of Blood & Thunder 84. Redemption - Snowfall on Judgement Day 86. 3 Inches Of Blood - Here Waits Thy Doom 89: Warbringer - Waking Into Nightmares 99. Obituary - Darkest DayOk, so here are some comments.... Surprised at albums that placed higher than I thought.4. Mastodon - Crack the Skye 9. The Chasm - Farseeing The Paranormal Abysm 16. Slayer - World Painted Blood 28. Dream Theater - Black Clouds And Silver Linings- Mastodon at #4 is a little surprising because I did not think the album was loved as much as their prior albums. I guess I was wrong. - Seeing The Chasm in top 10 of anything is pretty shocking but it's very cool to see that people are diggin' this truly amazing band. - Oh sure, Slayer gets on the list by name alone regardless of the quality of the album. I understand that but many people shit on this album as much as the people who praised it so I expected them to be prolly 20 notches lower, give or take. - I like Dream Theater but this last album was a bit of a disappointment and even the rabid DT fanboys were tame on their reaction to the album. Didn't think this would place high at all. I though it would be much, much lower. Surprised at albums that placed lower than I thought.27. Sacrifice - The Ones I Condemn 46. Voivod - Infini 61. Artillery - When Death Comes 89: Warbringer - Waking Into Nightmares- I expected Sacrifice to be in the top 10 or 15 easily. If they can't make the top 10 of this board, then they will never make a top 10. Plus, I think they deserve to be ranked that high. - Voivod is a band again that by name alone, they should be in the top 25. Kind of surprised to see them drop. - The thrash afficianados were boasting about the new Artillery when it came out. Seems like it lost some steam as the year went on. - As for Warbringer, I wasn't expecting them to place in the top 30 or antyhing but it seemed that many were much more pleased with the second album over the debut and I thought it would show in the rankings. They seemed to have barely made the list.

Ya, that doesn't seem right to me either, I'm going to go thru a few things again and see. Baroness was on a lot of peoples lists too. It is possible I've over looked something.

Ya, you were right, my apologies, I did over look Baroness and Destroyer 666 when making the final tally. Thanks for catching that.

Thanks for making this LOAF. Cool list although Altar of Plagues, Converge and Teitanblood need to be higher of course

 Re: Braveboard Top Albums of 2009
Thanks for the effort putting that list together !!!
This is the first year MY list has been pretty close to what the readers here have chosen.
I still say STEEL PANTHER is a TOP 10 - that singer and guitarist frickin' RIP - plus the songs made me laugh for at least 3 months straight...

Shiiiiit. I completely neglected to get my list in in time for the final count.
But Heaven & Hell made the top 10? Really?! I wanted to like that record, but it really does nothing for me at all. I'm surprised it did as well as it did, but hey, good for 'Sabbath.

 Re: Braveboard Top Albums of 2009
Wow. Despite its utter mediocrity, I figured the new Gorgoroth would be in there. My #1, Blut Aus Nord, came in 78th. #2, Ulcerate, didn't make the list. #3, Amorphis, came in 10th. Portal came in 49th. I think that's a pretty damn good list altogether. Thanks for doing the tallies LOAF.
