Re: Adrian 'The Energizer' Bromley - Rest In Peace
Like I said earlier, I never knew Adrian, though always knew he was a presence here, but this thread really put it into perspective. It's touching reading everyone's good memories of someone who was very special.
His memory will live on.

Re: Adrian 'The Energizer' Bromley - Rest In Peace
Like everyone else here I'm shocked and saddened by this news... I don't know what to say that hasn't already been said many times over. He was an excellent guy and a pillar in the metal community. This thread alone is testament to the number of people he's touched. Adrian was with me through some of the foulest moods of my entire life (like driving 7 hours across Florida state after missing a flight) and put up with some of my rudest verbal diarrhea. Where anybody else would've told me to fuck right off, he just laughed and ribbed me and made nothing of it. Once he'd decided you were a friend (generally within 15 seconds of meeting you) you couldn't shake him even if you wanted to. I have a whole bunch of pictures which I'll post in here shortly. I take some solace that he's in the great hall now clinking pints with Chuck, Dime, Cliff, Randy, Quorthon and probably getting treated to a seriously kickass concert. See you again at the feast, my friend!

Re: Adrian 'The Energizer' Bromley - Rest In Peace
Thank you for the beautiful post, Winston. I had a trip back to Ontario planned at the end of January but have changed my flight plan so I can attend his tribute - which is a great idea and I absolutely agree that it's something he would have wanted

winstonbromley wrote: Hi Everyone, Adrian's twin here. My name is Winston He will be sadly missed by our family, my sister, mother, my wife, my daughter who was asking to talk to Adrian on SKYPE today as they often did, and of course his fiance, Renee, who he loved very much. And Yosemite, his cat.
Whenever we were in the car together after he returned to Toronto, half the time he was talking to Renee and the other half he was showing me pics of Kiana and your pops. Saw these going through some emails.

What a morning that was. I don't think I've ever laughed as hard as I did when he was around.

Re: Adrian 'The Energizer' Bromley - Rest In Peace
Thank you for that wonderful post Winston. It was very touching. Like I said, I never had the privilege of meeting your brother in person, but I'm sure those words will help those here who are grieving the most. I'm very sorry for your loss.

Re: Adrian 'The Energizer' Bromley - Rest In Peace
I cannot begin to tell you how hard it is to write these words. When Tracey (my wife) told me on Monday about Adrian I couldn’t stop myself from smiling. I thought that I was being insensitive, and the guilt was pretty intense, but the truth is, that any time I think of Adrian (even under these, the worst of circumstances) he has the same effect on me – complete happiness. And any thoughts of Adrian instantly put a smile on my face. Sometime around 13 or 14 years ago, Adrian and I (along with 8 or 9 other people) were involved in a really serious car crash in the US which nearly killed us all. At 3 AM I was jolted awake by the sound of Adrian yelling and then moments later the impact of our RV crashing into another car at full speed. We then flipped up onto 2 wheels and teetered on the edge of a very steep embankment for 100 feet or so before crashing down again on to all wheels. We then rolled across 4 lanes of traffic into the middle of the highway where the remains of our vehicle leaked gasoline into the roadway as a convoy of 18 wheel rigs flew past us. I had been sleeping in the bunk over the driver, and on initial impact I was partially braced for it, but was still thrown forward into the window. Then when we tipped sideways, I started to slide downwards towards another smaller window which I nearly slid out through. If it wasn’t for Adrian yelling at the top of his lungs “FUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCKK - HOLD ON!” I’m fairly certain I would have been thrown from the RV in my sleep and killed instantly. What I remember about the chaos which followed immediately afterwards, was Adrian in overdrive. Happy to be alive and doing what he could to make the best of a really terrible situation. He spent the next few hours trying to keep us all in good spirits and laughing as we marveled at the wreckage, thankful to still be alive. From there we would go on to Texas, where Adrian continued to keep us all in good spirits as we tried desperately to put the memories (and the intense shellshock) of the crash behind us. On one night soon-after at a sold out (and over packed) show in Houston, I looked over my shoulder to see Adrian smiling at me as he ran from the back of the stage to dive head first off of the monitors and over the security guards heads. (I hope that you can visualize this… ) However, he really only made it as far as the first 2 front rows of people and got stuck upside down, wedged in place. His backside and feet sticking straight up in the air and not moving at all. I ran over and started to pull on his arms to free him and was greeted by another of the classic Adrian Bromley Cheshire cat, ear-to-ear grins. Nothing was going to bring him down. And he truly kept me in stitches and going strong during that very rough tour. From then on, throughout the years whenever he would call, the conversation would always start: “Hello.” “Yo. What’s going on? You know I saved your life… Hahahaha…” It was true. And for that I have always been – and will always be extremely thankful to Adrian. I really am absolutely devastated by the news of his passing. This has been really hard on me – and I can only imagine how difficult it has been for those of you who have been so very close to Adrian over the years. It is often said that the spirit of someone lives on in their friends and family. I know in my heart that this is DEFINITELY the case with Adrian. His incredible energy, good will, and laughter will live on in all of us who were fortunate enough to know him. And as I learned from him on the night of the crash, it IS best to smile and make the best of a truly terrible situation. I will always have a place in my heart filled with love for my friend Adrian. To all of Adrian's family and friends I send you all my best. ADAM.
