Re: Adrian 'The Energizer' Bromley - Rest In Peace
I've taken up TLP's idea.
I've read some of the stories and it just reinforces what an amazing person was lost. Once again, my condolences to those that know and love him.
Out of all the BBers I've ever wanted to meet, he was up there and I regret now that it will never happen.

This is probably the only reason I will ever re-activate my account. I lurk here still, everyday and enjoyed reading Adrian's posts. When JSW and I first joined these boards we were wonderfully hazed by him. Got the pleasure of meeting him and tapping into that wonderful knowledge of metal and rock music in general through conversation. This is a shock, a complete shock. My heart will be heavy tonight; here's to you Adrian. Rest In Peace.

Re: Adrian 'The Energizer' Bromley - Rest In Peace
I've been pretty stunned by this, never have I met anyone so respected by absolutely everyone. Fun guy to be around, all will miss that. Even when he moved to NYC, somehow you knew he would be back. This is his city.
I will never forget coming off stage at the most memorable show of my life and Adrian was right there, gave me a hug and said "great show rob".
Rest In Peace brother. We'll all miss you.

RIP Adrian. Though I didn't know you very well, I always respected your opinion. As you can tell by the amount of responses to this thread you were well loved and will be missed by a lot of individuals. Cheers MPB.

Re: Adrian 'The Energizer' Bromley - Rest In Peace
Although I never met Adrian, he was a constant source of inspiration and friendship over the years. I've received a lot of kind words over the years from BBers, but never have they meant more than when they were said by Adrian. He was there for me through all the tough times in my life and even the good. After my mom passed away, he called me up and mailed me an Unrestrained shirt. He was there through all the tough shit after that, always giving me a call to see that I was doing well. Adrian inspired me in so many ways in the few years that I knew him. He has called me a few times in the past to check up on my weight loss and to offer advice. Hell, when I cancelled my gym membership a few months ago, I thought of all the people I'd be disappointing and he was right there at the top. I'm glad to say that I just got back into my workout routine this morning, but I'm saddened to know that I can't tell him. He gave me so much priceless advice with my writing and if it wasn't for him, I never would have done some of the cooler interviews that I had the opportunity to conduct. One big thing I'll miss about the phone calls with Adrian is that every time I hung up with him, I would just laugh. His voice never seemed to match the pictures of him that I had seen and he talked so damn fast and energetically. He will truly be missed as one of the greatest friends I've never had the chance to meet. R.I.P. Adrian

A few of us were out for beer and wings once and Adrian ordered these really really spicy chicken wings. He was cautioned by the server that the wings were inhumanly hot and that no one is capable of eating more than one of them before screaming in agony. So he went ahead and ordered them and then proceeded to eat most of them, even though he had tears running down his face and he drank about two pints of beer to wash them down. I personally thought that was crazy, but that's the kind of man he was. He would get this idea to do things that everyone thought no one could do, and he would go ahead and do them regardless of the hardships. Here's to Adrian and living life to the fullest! He did that a few times with me at Hooters, I never understood it.

Very shocked and saddened to hear about this. I didn't know him well at all, only really talked to him one time at a show at BB Kings in NYC. We were hanging out backstage and I recognized his photo from on here and introduced myself and we ended up talking for awhile. Seemed like a great guy that did alot to help support the Metal scene. His family and friends all have my condolences...may he R.I.P.

Re: Adrian 'The Energizer' Bromley - Rest In Peace
Been sitting here for ten minutes now trying to figure out what to write... after 2 erased drafts, and more blank staring at the damn screen .... I still can't figure out what to say. This is straight up a sad, sad day for metal, for journalism, for us all.... I send my condolences to his family and friends (including and all of you guys here that are good friends with him.) Rest In Peace man...

Re: Adrian 'The Energizer' Bromley - Rest In Peace
I haven't posted on the Braveboard in quite a while. I am very saddened by the passing of Adrian Bromley. I got to know Adrian from his tremendous support of my band Widow. In 2005 we were booked to play at his Northern Lights festival in Toronto at the Opera House. We are from North Carolina, and had bought plane tickets to Toronto a few months before the show. The festival was cancelled, and we were stuck with non-refundable tickets. I spoke to Adrian and he was very upset about this, and went out of his way to help us book a show in Toronto with Goat Horn and Burn to Black. He went to a lot of trouble to help four people he had never met. We played the show and stayed with Adrian and it was a blast. We went all around Toronto and he showed us an amazing time. He took us to the Hockey Hall of Fame, the CN Tower, several great restaurants where great meals were had and many Molsons were drank! He was so cool to us and we really had an incredible time hanging with him and kept in touch. The fact that he would do all this for people he didn't know is a true testament of his charachter. Adrian was truely the biggest supporter of the metal scene and one of the nicest people I have ever met. RIP
