Post Re: Adrian 'The Energizer' Bromley - Rest In Peace
We offer our deepest condolences to the Bromley family and all of Adrian's friends.
Adrian meant a great deal to Burn To Black as he was the one who early on believed in us enough to want to sign us to his own label, Urgent Music.
We're very proud of our debut record, and proud to have the association with Adrian that we did.

This is a tremendous loss.
Thank you Adrian, you will be missed.

I'm so glad to have met him last year. He was such an awesome person. Genuine, kind and honest to the core. I think it'd be impossible to not have fun with him around. You will be missed Adrian! Prog/Power wasn't the same without him there this year and I'm sad to say that it will never be again. I was already looking forward to having him back next year for Orphaned Land. Rest in Peace.

Wow. Just. Wow. RIP, Adrian - though I didn't have as much contact with him as many others, what little I did was enough to know what an awesome person he was.

That is terrible news. I have been reading his posts here since he first joined and he was a true asset to the metal community. I was lucky enough to meet him once here in Seattle and he was one of the nicest guys. RIP to a great person.

Post Re: Adrian 'The Energizer' Bromley - Rest In Peace
Although I haven't been on the board in ages I just had to say something.

I can remember back in 2001 (I think) when Adrian first came to the board. Out of nowhere there was this guy called mister pink bunny posting his ass off, was the guy for real? I guess it didn't take much time before everybody could see how genuine he was in his passion for Metal.

Although I've never met him in person we did have regular contact at some point and called a bunch of times, which was pretty awesome considering we were in completely different continents and time zones. He always had this drive about him, always going forward, doing tons of things at the time, but still had the time for the people around him. But apart from that he had to unique gift to carry over his enthusiasm to whoever he was talking to, immediately making you think the world of this new band that he was talking about. And I guess he was almost always right too.

I guess there are some impressions that not even time can erase. Despite the relatively superficial contact we had and have had over the last few years, the news of Adrian's passing has filled me with sadness. I cannot even start to imagine how much this must hurt to the ones closest to him. May everybody find the strength to deal with this tremendous loss

Rest in peace, Adrian

Post Re: Adrian 'The Energizer' Bromley - Rest In Peace
I am not sure if i can do this, but....

I first started talking to Ade on mIRC back in 1992/93. His nickname on there was enegizer and never had a more appropriate nickname for anyone. We chatted quite a bit about music in those early days and slowly built up a friendship online. in 97 i went off to college and we started talking on the phone. We would talk almost daily on the phone, even though we spent most of the day talking online. A lot of people don't realize that a conversation with Ade on the phone within the last few years was a lot different from back then. Then, he would call, cram an hour conversation into 5 minutes and the only thing you say is "Hello?" when you answer the phone.

In the spring of 1999 Ade came down with a couple of friends and stayed in my tiny dorm room for NEMF. At night, Paul S. who had ear plugs, was the only one to sleep besides Ade. I didn't realize then, but Ade's snoring would become the butt of every joke everytime we hung out.
That winter I made my first trek up to Toronto. I was staying with one of his friends, but he called me there everyday to make sure i was being taken care of and to schedule time for us to hang out. I met his roommate, Kim, her cats, which Ade loved and we chilled and watched movies.

We hung out quite a bit over the years.... He spent Thanksgiving with my family, I accompanied him to Winston's wedding and he accompanied me to my brothers wedding. Any time a relationship i was in ended, he would call me on the phone and tell me i deserved better, and often offered for me to move up to canada so he could take care of me like an older brother. and just like tv, we made a pack that if by the time I was 40, if we both were still single, we would get married.

He was always giddy, always giggling. He was the type of person you couldn't get mad at, even when he would wake you up by blaring Culture Club and him giggling at his joke.

Ade has been my best friend for the past 15 years. I can't comprehend not having him in my life. I was so looking forward to getting to know and befriend Renee, and so excited he had met someone so special.

I have so much i could share over the past 15 years....and perhaps as time goes I will post more.

I have already started going through photos I have and tonight I am going to attempt to make a photobucket account with all the photos of him i have.

I love you Ade....you truly are missed, but i know Grahame is up there holding you tight.

WHen i saw this pic of Adrian that Rab posted it reminded me of something about adrian that i want to share with you all:

Back in 2001 I was playing in a band called RECKON WITH ONE, we had just finished recording our second full length album called THE PURPOSE OF EXISTENCE and Adrian called me and told me how much he really enjoyed it and asked me if i had approached any record labels with it yet...to which i told him no...well within a few days he had contacted a few labels he knew and i received an email from GALY RECORDS asking to receive a copy. Shortly after we were signed to the label, THat was the kind of guy Adrian was....he would go out of his way to help out bands and his friends, and would never ask for anything in return...Although i remember meeting up with him a few days later and as a thank you from the band i gave him my European Vinyl pressings of the IRON MAIDEN singles...that made his day.

RIP my friend

MPB was such an awesome dude, and always a pleasure to run into in T.O.

He always showed his support for the local metal scene. I remember him checking out my band early on, when we were playing at Rockit with some other locals. He made a point both in person, and online to comment on our set. And if he wasn't at a show, which was rare, he'd be the first on Braveboard waiting for pics, and show reviews.

I swear he'd talk to every person at every show he attended, and he'd also be sure to introduce you to whomever was around him. He had a way of bringing the metal community together like no other.

I remember a few times hearing him use the term "the real deal" to describe people in the industry who wore their heart on their sleeve, who did things not because it was cool or fashionable, but because it was who they were.

Cheers to 'the real deal'...MPB

What sad, sad news!

Adrian had been part of the metal scene for as long as I remember and although I never had the pleasure of meeting him, through his writing and his efforts I got turned onto a ton of great metal bands! I thank him for that. There were thousands of miles between us, but each mile simply represented another band we probably both shared a love and appreciation for !

That opening picture made my heart skip a beat. Had to slowly read it twice to realize it was real. Pretty damn sad, considering how young he was and how nice of a guy he was. Pretty unbelievable...

RIP Mister Pink Bunny
