Could some explain to me what the big deal about Nevermore is? I only have Dreaming Neon Black which I thought was 'the one' to have and while I like it OK it doesn't blow me away by any means. What am I missing here? just seem so-so to me. Haven't felt the need to explore their catalog any further.

I dunno, to me Nevermore are all about huge, gigantic guitar riffs and solos, awesome production (well, except for that godawful original version of Enemies Of Reality), excellent songwriting and very memorable melodies. The vocals aren't the greatest, but I find them tolerable, and he hits some really cool notes very often. Dreaming Neon Black is good, but my advice to you would be to try Dead Heart In A Dead World or the new one, This Godless Endeavor, to see if they change your opinion any.

They sucked ass the one time I seen em, in Toronto back in November 2003. Terrible sound, lifeless performances, awful setlist, zero reaction from the crowd...it got so bad that Warrel Dane was practically BEGGING the crowd to get some sort of a pit going, but to no avail. They were so bad that I almost stopped being a fan of theirs, but they were also severely out of place on that tour (Dimmu/CoB/Hypocrisy), and that didn't help their case any.

I doubt there will be a lot on my list that will make the top of the master list...
Seeing how it's going, Opeth and Nevermore are already a few miles ahead...

My saved spot is simply motivational nagging. Sorta like, "if I know I am taking up space already in this thread, I'll get off my ass and finish my list sooner."

Wow, I haven't listened to too many albums this year, but I'll give it a go from what I have listened to:
1. Kate Bush - Aerial
2. Neil Young - Prairie Wind
3. Nightingale - Invisible
4. Sigur Ros - Takk
5. Nile - Annihilation of the Wicked
6. Strapping Young Lad - Alien
7. Opeth - Ghost Reveries
8. Billy Corgan - The Future Embrace
9. Bloodbath - Nightmares Made Flesh
10. Behemoth - Demigod
I still haven't listened to the new Nevermore, which is shameful to say the least....That and the new sigh followed by the new Akercocke....

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. Hell, I don't think there is a list that will share more than 2 of the same releases as me.
