Hey, I'm not saying I'm at all bothered by it. But I'd never let myself get fucked like that even if I'm going to lose, just on principle alone

If Sharp was said to be coming back soon, I wouldn't have done it. But at this point whatever I can pick up for next year will be better than the black hole my team is this year.

Re: The 2013 BBer Hockey Pool - Sprint for the Finish
Maybe, but for a backup goalie? That's pretty ballsy, man. I just think you could've done better. I totally get why you made the decision, I just think you could've gotten way more for Sharp than an unproven backup goal tender who happened to have some amazing games this year. If it were me, I'd have taken a third or fourth round pick before I picked up Victor Fasthe if we're talking about next year.

Re: The 2013 BBer Hockey Pool - Sprint for the Finish
Considering I've gotten nothing substantial from my goalies all year, I'm surprised that you're surprised that I'd take the chance. Granted, I know Burger just thought he could play me as a sucker because this guy is behind Hiller, and so he could stash Sharp for next year; but I'm not sure I would've kept him anyway. So really, I had nothing to lose right now. I'm not as dumb as you think. And after last night, you're the last one to even suggest the lack of my having an idea of what I'm doing.

Re: The 2013 BBer Hockey Pool - Sprint for the Finish
You have your fantasy wheelhouse, I have mine There is always the chance that Fasthe gets moved, which would be huge for you. I was tempted to keep Luongo for his final year of eligibility because he is sure to be moved this summer. But considering that Niemi has two years of keeper eligibility vs the one year of Luongo, I had to bite the bullet and move Luongo out of town to build for next year. Burger is also a Blackhawks fanboy, and I'd wager you'd have gotten at least a second if not a first rounder out of him for Sharp. Stick it in deep every chance you get!

I should really stop trying trying to run my teams like an actual GM might. Maybe then it'll make sense.

I might be willing to move Quick if anyone is still looking for goaltending.

Re: The 2013 BBer Hockey Pool - Sprint for the Finish
I don't think BH got hosed at all.
Fasth has been getting at least 1/3 of the starts for the 2nd best team in the league.
Sharp could be out until the start of the playoffs.
Not only that, Gs are pretty valuable and hard to get, and BH hasn't even had 1 goalie start this week.

Where's the fairness gap? you gave up what will likely be the #1 pick in the draft, you could have taken any none keeper goalie you wanted, and lu might not even be in vancouver (or at least not as the starter) next year. and what's brad boyes going to do? don't think you're planning on keeping him as a keeper, and if you were planning a push for the playoffs then why all the selling?

My keepers are already set with Malkin, Kane and Rask. Sharp doesn't even come close to being a keeper for me. I have to drop Getzlaf ffs.

Re: The 2013 BBer Hockey Pool - Sprint for the Finish
yeah some of the people look like they've FUCKED themselves over for the draft. i was a buyer, but i wasn't about to trade out of the top 50 picks entirely. even if i had my pick of any 3 players in the league as my keepers, wasn't gonna happen.
hopefully i've improved myself enough to stay competitive, both this year and next.

Re: The 2013 BBer Hockey Pool - Sprint for the Finish
I guess this comes down to different philosophies and view points. One thing I love most about sports is that anything can happen. People can turn out to be busts or league leaders in stats. Teams can be unpredictable. That and realizing this is all for fun and not getting hung up on things.
