 Re: Fitness Thread (2013 Edition!)
Speaking of pullups... how many pullups can you guys do? They're awesome but such a motherfucker. I can't do more than five or six in a row. Been stuck at that number for months.

 Re: Fitness Thread (2013 Edition!)
Been using the MyFitnessPal app on my phone. My wife is on there as well, so it's keeping me more honest with my eating habits. Down 8 lbs right now. Now to just mix in the actual exercise.

i should do more. Since I can't do a single one, I've been using the lat pull-down machine (no idea what it's actually called), slowly increasing the weight.

A great machine, but many swear you "have to do pullups". Just like "you have to squat". I find the latter to be BS. I do think pullups are an excellent, non-dangerous exercise though. I should do more, it's just the visible humiliation that I don't enjoy too much.

Yeah, my issue though is that I can't do any, so I have to start somewhere, trying to work at least a similar area in order to get to that first successful one.

Pull ups aren't dangerous?
Tell that to my tongue, 18 years ago.

 Re: Fitness Thread (2013 Edition!)
My gym has switched ownership. Now the nightclub music is pulsing right when I workout because of a gay-ass crossfit class.
Oh God it's bad. Literally as loud as a nightclub. Poom poom poom. Hit syou like a wall when you walk in the door.

 Re: Fitness Thread (2013 Edition!)
I've peeked in to this thread from time to time and I think it's high time for me to ask my question. I am thinking about going to the gym to attain more upper body definition. The problem is, I have no idea where to start. Can anyone honestly help me put together some kind of upper body focused workout that I can do three to four times a week?

Pushups, pullups, chinups... knowing your body type you just need to work that region a little and you'll be good. The trick is pushing yourself when you do. Don't just do ten and say "wow, I did ten pushups, I'm really strong." Do it til you're exhausted. Do a hundred. Do two hundred. Throw in some squats so you don't become a numberguy, too.
